There are three Republican candidates who can plausibly win the GOP nomination in 2016, former George W. Bush strategist Karl Rove said Wednesday, but he doesn't think Donald Trump is one of them.
Instead, Rove said he'd pick "[Jeb] Bush, [Chris] Christie, or [Marco] Rubio, in alphabetical order," telling MSNBC's "Morning Joe" program that while he can make the case that "probably six or seven people," including Trump, can make the nomination, he doesn't think it's likely that the New York billionaire will win.
Rove said he also sees Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Ben Carson, or Ohio Gov. John Kasich as potential nominees, but of them all, he believes either Bush, Christie or Rubio will be the eventual winner.

For me its Cruz or Trump. Accept no substitutes.
It sounds like Rove and GOPe are going to try and steal the election.
If its not Trump or Cruz than Hillary will win, in my opinion, because the conservative base will stay home..
We have to hold the line and get into Caucus/Primary season. Feb 1 can’t come soon enough
They won't be able to steal the election, but they just might steal the nomination.
Don't mean chit if he didn't have it on his white board.
Rove, Whoraldo and BOR are the reason I no longer watch Fox News.
I feel much better. I know every other stations leaning, weigh it, find the nugget of truth and move on.
I am even sleeping better.
Look, Rove, don’t - look - jinx - look - us, look - please. Look.
Yeah, whatever Turd Blossom.
NOT this woman...I don't listen to garbage...and that's what Rove is, if it wasn't for faux and bushes he would be on the streets under newspapers to stay dry....
Karl Rove’s chance of professional survival are NIL
He thought Mitt won in 2012 so I don’t put much credence in his opinion.
Rubio is certainly a contender (though personally I would prefer someone else). The other two Rove mentioned are not even good also-rans.
What’s he smoking?
The GOP presidential nominating process is rigged.
So, as implausible as Rove’s predictions may sound right now, he could be right.
In which case the formerly grand old party will be without any sizable base of support.
Here’s a message for Rove. the gopE winning the presidency is unlikely. We’ve had it and we ain’t votin’ for Jeb or Christie or Rubio or any other rino.
The GOPe is fine with President Cankles. They have the same goals.
