After a brief turn at the top of the Republican presidential field, Ben Carson has returned to second-place behind front-runner Donald Trump. Such is not the case in Maryland, however, where Carson spent nearly three decades as the lead neurosurgeon at Baltimore's Johns Hopkins Hospital.
According to a University of Baltimore/Baltimore Sun poll released Tuesday evening, Carson tops the GOP field in Maryland with 27 percent support among likely Republican voters in the state.
Trump, the outspoken billionaire who regained his edge in national and early primary state polls following the terror attacks in Paris, trails Carson by four percentage points in the Old Line State, well within the poll's 5.6 percent margin of error.

“You would think at some point in time; Jeb and those below him and slightly above him in the Pollâs would get out of the race, if for no other reason to be saved from endless embarrassment.”
They will. It’s only a matter of time.
Chauncey. Carson.
Jeb will stay in the race until his Super Pac has spent all of their donors’ money on advertising and there’s nothing left.
...the “all important” Maryland primary.......
ping!
Maryland has gone to hell in a handbag for far too many years. Washington D.C. is built on Maryland soil. You can believe the infection has spread from there and the disease continues to spread. Look at Virginia.>>>>
most of the rest of the state is conservative and great.
Gosh Jebby,
Guess all that money can’t buy ya any love there RINO pal.
Judging by the turnout at Trump rallies, his supporters are loyal and motivated. I’d suspect that Trump’s turnout percentages will overcome small deficiencies in polling numbers.
5.6% MOE, so Carson still mignt not be in the lead here.
Is MD still part of the United States?
Cruz is behind Carson, Trump and Rubio in Maryland, but that doesn’t surprise me, considering how liberal Maryland is.
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
Remind us on just how many conservative votes there actually are in Maryland. Am I right, its four?
I know that if it means anything,I was born at Union Memorial in Baltimore Jan 8, 1943. When I left Baltimore it was 80 some % white now what. Theodore Roosevelt McKeldin was the last Baltimore Republican Mayor, and the 53rd Governor, it has gone down hill fast since.
Ehrlich was gov 2003-2007. People seem to conveniently forget that.
And Spiro Agnew.
Wow! 4 whole percent. That is a blow out.
Isn’t Baltimore home of that cray-cray mayor?
LOL whatevah
Our governor is republican

Finally!!!!! How long has it been since Maryland had a Republican Governor until now? There have only been seven Rep. Gov.’s in the last 100 years including the present Hogan.
