On September 30, 1938, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain landed at Heston Aerodrome in England and spoke to the crowds there:
âThe settlement of the Czechoslovakian problem, which has now been achieved is, in my view, only the prelude to a larger settlement in which all Europe may find peace. This morning I had another talk with the German Chancellor, Herr Hitler, and here is the paper which bears his name upon it as well as mine. Some of you, perhaps, have already heard what it contains but I would just like to read it to you: ⦠We regard the agreement signed last night and the Anglo-German Naval Agreement as symbolic of the desire of our two peoples never to go to war with one another again.â
Later that day he stood outside 10 Downing Street and again read from the document and concluded:
âMy good friends, for the second time in our history, a British Prime Minister has returned from Germany bringing peace with honour. I believe it is peace for our time. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Go home and get a nice quiet sleep.â
As Chamberlain told everyone to get a good nightâs sleep and basked his own cowardice, Hitler told his entourage, âWe have dealt with worms.â
The Munich Agreement in September of 1938 allowed the Germans to occupy the Sudetenland, an ethnic German province in Czechoslovakia. Of course Hitler didnât stop there. In March, the Nazis moved into the rest of the country and in September 1939, they invaded Poland, causing the British to finally declare war on Germany. World War II had begun.
The Nazis knew that Chamberlain was weak and ISIS undoubtedly knows that President Obama is a wallflower as well.
Obama exhibits many of the symptoms of âNeville Chamberlain Syndrome.â Heâs delusional, lacks any ability to project power, hopes that the bad guys will simply fade away and has no will to fight and no strategy.
Today, Obama met with French President Hollande in the White House. Hollande looked like a nervous contestant on a game show. They had some Brie and crackers in the Oval, smiled for the cameras and Obama promised our support and undying friendship.
While looking like a deer caught in the headlights, Obama mentioned no change in US strategy to fight ISIS, which translated means we wonât be fighting ISIS. He did mention that ISIS needs to be destroyed. Howâs that going to happen?
Most importantly, President Neville Obama said that next weekâs global climate conference is going to be a powerful rebuke to ISIS. We will fight ISIS with windmills. We will fight ISIS with electric cars. We will fight ISIS with solar panels. We shall never surrender.
Youâre the President of the United States, not the manager of the neighborhood Whole Foods.
Hollande was given a White House snow globe as a consolation prize and then quickly hustled backstage, so Obama could get back to the really serious business of letting 100,000 Syrian ISIS supporters into the country and worrying about glacier levels in the upper Himalayas. After Hollandeâs departure, Obama played some hoops, watched Sara âNo Hâ Brown on the Golf Channel and maybe tonight, thereâs an hour of reading Tales of the Arabian Nights under the covers with a pen light.
Nighty-night America.
Meanwhile in the real world, the global situation with ISIS continued to go from SNAFU to FUBAR rapidly.
Thereâs the cascading crisis in the Pentagon over charges that CENTCOM created intelligence to paint a picture of a severely weakened ISIS to placate the White House.
A Russian SU-24 fighter was shot down near the Turkish border today. Syrian rebels finished the pilots off in the air as they parachuted to what they thought was safety.
Belgium is in a state of lockdown as national police and counter-terrorist units fan out across the country. ISIS threats to a myriad of US interests and cities continue to grow.
Meanwhile, our NATO partners look to us for leadership and they see nothing. They see Barack Obama, the invisible man in the Oval Office. They see a man who doesnât want to lead and doesnât seem to care.
Right now, the French, the notorious artsy metrosexuals of the globe look at the US like we are complete wimps, with our commander-in-chief President Barack Chamberlain.
He seems content with the US relegated to a Third World status. He acts as if heâs the Prime Minister of some backward African nation hanging on to parliamentary democracy by a thread and surviving on UNESCO handouts.
We have a president that for whatever reason does not have and does not embrace American values. He doesnât have that American idealism to right wrongs; like most Presidents, like most Americans.
President Obama needs to forge a coalition that would include NATO members and Arab allies. He also needs to get on board with Putin. No doubt Putin wants the Baltic States and the Ukraine and probably the key to the executive John in Warsaw. Right now that doesnât really matter.
We need the Russians and Putin in the fight against ISIS, like we needed Stalin in WWII. We may not agree with Putin on everything, but itâs time to face reality and bring him on board.
Right now, it is a world without the grandeur of US military and diplomatic leadership. We are absent because the White House is absent from reality. Want to know what the world would be like without the US? Just follow the situation in the coming months.
Like Chamberlain, Obama is determined to do nothing. He somehow thinks that if he ignores ISIS they will go away. They wonât. Will anything wake him from his slumber? Did anything wake Chamberlain? Nope. He was ousted from power and England was saved by Winston Churchill.
Obamaâs desultory and cowardly attitude is endangering all of us. He thinks his âstrategyâ is going to provide âPeace for our time.â
Peace in our time President Obama? Hardlyâ¦
This war with ISIS will end only one way; when ISIS is annihilated.
The author presumes that Obama is a merely a weak, cowardly fool.
If only we had it so good. Obama is the enemy infiltrator and destroyer. Greek = Apollyon, Hebrew = Abaddon, Luo = Obama
I agree. Things are going according to plan.
Concur.
Chamberlainâs agreement accomplished one thing good. It gave Britain time to rearm. What has 0bama done? Heâs worked to disarm us.
