Dr. Ravi Zacharias is one of Christianityâs foremost apologists. His ministry, Ravi Zacharias International Ministries, is based in Norcross, Georgia.
Is the West being slow-cooked by a resurgence of Islamic fervor across the globe, responding to individual attacks by separate groups but refusing to engage in the wider battle?
One of Christianityâs most widely respected thinkers and erudite apologists says that is exactly the case.
In an op-ed titled "Is Paris Burning," Ravi Zacharias says Europe, America and the entire free world are being lied to by their politicians and most of their media, who refuse to ask the appropriate questions and brand those who dare to do so with nasty labels.
The Paris attacks targeted every-day people having fun â at restaurants, pubs, a soccer stadium and a concert hall.
Zacharias, who is speaking in Egypt this week, was in England the night of the Paris massacre.
The newspapers the next day described the horrific attacks that killed 129 and injured more than 350 with words like "carnage," "massacre," "assassination," "murder," "blood," "death," "screams," "terror" and so on.
"Television programming was pre-empted and viewers were cautioned that some of the scenes of the slaughter were graphic. It was real," Zacharias wrote. "A few hours later, names and pictures of the dead were shown. It was like we had heard this before. But it was new and real: the victimsâ lives cut short in the peak of their careers. Children who werenât going to come home."
He said there is a sense that we are at war, but not officially and not seriously enough to name the enemy.
"War in small increments can be deadlier than large scale war because it doesnât just desensitize the killers; it desensitizes all of humanity."

Ravi is a voice of truth and reason during a time when the world lives in an age of lies and confusion.
Great article. Thanks.

The question which needs to be asked of all these politicians insisting on accepting Muslim refugees is:
“Have you accepted money from a Muslim organization to bring Muslim refugees into your country?”
They are taking bribes.
Just think of all the stuff we have to FIGHT OUR WAY THROUGH before we even get to the muslims. TV, MSM, the ‘law’, our “po-lice forces”, zoneing boards must be eliminated BEFORE we even get to the enemy.
Whatta mess.
I love, love, love this man! We listen to him on the BBN radio network. What he says is so intense and deep that you really have to listen to a program two or three times to “get” everything.
So true. His words have profound meaning. He is truly gifted and empowered by God on his mission.
I had the privilege to spend several days with him some years back. Not only was he absolutely brilliant, but he is incredibly humble, gentle, and kind in private.
I agree Ravi is a powerful voice for Christianity. We need to hear more bold Christian voices like his, and quickly.
I love this guy. Seriously, the guy’s reasoning and persuasion is absolutely outstanding.
Ravi was one of the first speakers I started listening to regularly on Christian radio after I was born again in late 91. Brilliant, logical, historical, fearless....
Amen.
In one of Ravi's talks that was broadcast last year, a friend of his had been praying for Ravi.
His friend told Ravi that in a dream, God gave him a two-fold message:
1. Ravi's anointing in the latter part of his life would be even more profound than it has been to date (which has been incredible blessing)
2. God would help Ravi, "3, 4, 5."
Ravi's friend said he had no idea what the latter part of the message meant. Ravi, shocked, told him that he suffers from horrible back pain, and Ravi has had several surgeries. His spine is fused in the lumbar, LS3, 4, and 5, and that is where the pain emerges.
Since that talk, Ravi said his back has experienced genuine healing.
I believe that Ravi's friend had a legitimate dream and message, inspired from God.
If we are to believe the first part of that dream, it is that God is using Ravi even more profoundly today than he has for the last 40+ years that Ravi has been in ministry.
I truly believe that Zacharias was born into such a time as ours to be a voice for God's message of hope, light, and forgiveness in this darkening world.
And I as well sir, around 1996 when I asked Christ to save me.
I rode in several cars with Ravi, and drove him on other days. During one long drive, the driver (who I believe was searching for answers) asked Ravi a profound question. Ravi gave a profound and clear answer. I closed my eyes, and imagined the same message and voice coming through as I had heard him so many times on the radio, except now he was seated a few inches from me. The man is absolutely brilliant. But as you know, the cornerstone of all his belief rests on God, and His Word.
I also watched him take a very, very hostile question from an individual who was clearly lost and in great personal anguish. Ravi handled the question (and the questioner) with patience, gentleness, and respect.
He is almost too amazing to watch.
..Dr. Zacharias is one of the giants of the faith...
He and the late Adrian Rodgers are two that I listen to frequently.
Wow, I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting him, let alone spending that kind of time with him. He is a treasure, and you were truly blessed to have those experiences. But I”m sure you know that!
Thanks for story....very cool.
