BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: What was that? No, no, no, just a couple things. It wasn't -- no. No, no, no. Everything was fine. No, no. No, no. There wasn't any bias in it. Would you stop. Would you. What now? (interruption) Greetings, and welcome back, folks. Or welcome, period. Great to have you with us. Rush Limbaugh, the EIB Network. And I know you're here whether you love me or hate me. (laughing) That's right. Okay. Great to have you, folks.

Let me extend a thanks to Chris Wallace, Fox News Sunday for the appearance yesterday. Also want to thank the Fox crew that destroyed my computer monitor in here when a light stand fell on it before I arrived. So here I am, I have a great day playing golf, I go home and I do the cleanup routine. I'm on the way in and Brian's outside waiting on me. I said, "Oh, no. Oh, no." All the doors are open, there's 15 cars here. It's a 10-minute TV interview, there's 15 cars. What's going on? Brian's standing outside, he's got this look of I don't want to have to tell you what I have to tell you. Scared to death to even open -- I said, "What is it?"

So he told me, "They destroyed your monitor, a light stand fell on it."

I said, "What about the computer?"

"No, just the monitor, but it's not working."

And I said, "Great, I didn't bring my laptop." This is about an hour and a half before we're gonna shoot, didn't bring a laptop. I was gonna use the primary computer to bone up. So I had to borrow Brian's laptop and so forth. Anyway, it went fine, folks. I tell you this, there were three airings of the interview that I did, the show, Fox News Sunday. Goes live on the Fox broadcast network at 9 a.m. on Sunday, and then local affiliates carry it whenever they want to. Then the Fox News Channel replays it twice, once at noon and once at 6 p.m.

I started at 28 minutes into the show. I was the bottom of the hour sweep, and at about 6:45 last night my e-mail just starts smoking. It just starts burning up and people are enraged because apparently what happened, during the lightning round when they're throwing names at me and I'm supposed to do rat-tat-tat answers. The minute I got to Ted Cruz, they cut out of it and went to a breaking news alert update, breaking news on Brussels. So all these people that wanted to hear what I said about Ted Cruz didn't get to hear it. And, by the time Fox rejoined, it was near the end of the interview where I was talking about the latest book, Rush Revere and the Star-Spangled Banner.

Now, there were just two edits, folks. We taped this on Saturday afternoon. We started about 3:25. And there were just two edits and they were for time. They were not for content. The first thing that was edited out was something I said to you here on Thursday or Friday that we do have and have had forever religious tests on refugees when they are attempting to be granted asylum. We have to ask them about religion, there is a religious test, and we have always had it. The primary number of refugees blame religious persecution as the reason they want asylum and the reason they're fleeing wherever it is they live.

Well, we have to follow that up. So we have to ask them what their religion is, track down whether or not there's indeed religious persecution of their religion where they live. And Obama's out there saying (imitating Obama), "That's not how we do it. It's not the American way. We don't pass out compassion by virtue of religion." Wait. It's not about compassion anyway in this sense. It's about national security at this stage. But there is a religious test. That didn't make it, and the story of how the children's books came to be was edited out.

I'm sure both were just time edits. The story was about how Vince Flynn was wanting me to write a book for two or three years and I said, "Been there, done that, don't want to do it." And then Kathryn came in and said, "Why don't you do children's books?" and that appealed. Those are the two things that didn't make it in. Other than that, it was intact. It was live to tape, and it was cool. They've been using it all morning on Fox, bouncing off it.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Shasta Lake, California, gonna start on the phones here with Ray. Thank you for the call, sir. It's great to have you here. Hello.

CALLER: Hello.

RUSH: Yes. Yes, sir. Hello.

CALLER: This is Ray, and glad to talk to you finally. Things I called about, you looked great on the interview, lost a little bit of weight.

RUSH: Didn't I, though? Thank you for noticing. Appreciate that.

CALLER: I thought you answered the questions fantastically. I wish you'd have had more time.

RUSH: You know what? If they'd have given me the whole show you would have still said, "I wish you'd have had more time." It's just the way it is with me. It just goes by so fast, it's so intriguing, it's so absorbing. They had to put a limit on it somewhere.

CALLER: I know.

RUSH: And you know the old adage, always keep them wanting more.

CALLER: That's right.

RUSH: For next year when I do this again.

CALLER: That's right. And, you know, I support Cruz, and I support all of the top runners right now, and any of them will do a good job, I think, so -- the other thing I want to talk to you about, here in California, Mr. Moonbeam Brown has the illegals here, and they passed legislation that allowed the illegals to get their driver's license.

RUSH: Oh, yeah. Yeah. We knew this was coming. We've been talking about this for a long time. It's been part of Governor Moonbeam's plan. And he's not the only one. And in fact I don't have it right in front of me. There's another story that 150 illegal immigrants from somewhere were flown right over a customs spot, just brought right into the country without even having to go through customs. I mean, the Obama administration is serious about this. They are continuing -- the stories yesterday throughout the media were many about the continuing invasion of the southern border. You know, right now everybody's laser focused on the Syrian refugees coming in from Syria and how we are dealing with that.

large

But the southern border immigration, there haven't been any brakes applied. It is continuing unabated. The administration, Democrat Party has this objective that it's going to happen, it's gonna happen, and it doesn't matter what the courts say, it doesn't matter if Obama policies have a stay on them or temporary halt. He's going to continue to do it because he knows nobody's gonna stop him. We're fast approaching Obama's last year in office. I want to warn you again, in all likelihood, there are going to be things this president does in the next 12 months that you can't even think of or conceive of now. It's his last chance to have personal stamps or fingerprints on the transformation of this country. He knows nobody's gonna stop him. He knows the Republicans have taken impeachment -- i's late for that anyway. There's not gonna be any effort to stop him. The Republicans are looking beyond Obama and focusing on trying to win the White House themselves and they've just chalked it up, whatever happens this next year happens, and Obama knows all that.

I don't believe that he will have a free ride. The American people are gonna be angry as they can be and demanding that some action be taken to stop some of these things. I can't begin to predict the outrageous things that are going to happen specifically, but I'm pretty safe in telling you that there are going to be such things because there continue to be such things today.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Wendy, Traverse City, Michigan. It's great to have you as we head back to the phones. How are you doing?

CALLER: Oh, good. Thank you. I was lucky I got to hear your interview on the radio, and I was elated to hear what you said about Ted Cruz, because I was thinking it was so right on, and I think your audience should have the opportunity to hear it if you have the clip. I was wondering if you could play that.

RUSH: I've got the audio sound bite. The crew broke down the whole Wallace interview into three sound bites. It's a total of a little over 11 minutes, and I have it here, and I'm undecided whether I'm gonna replay all of that. But I can tell you what I said about Cruz, especially since so many people missed it if they were watching the third airing of Fox News Sunday yesterday. The third airing is at six p.m. Eastern on the Fox News Channel. As soon as they were...

It's in the lightning rounding where he mentions a name and the guest fires back with an audience. So he's going through these names. He mentioned... He started off with Trump and then Ben Carson and then went to Cruz. And as soon as I began my answer on Cruz, they broke into the program on Fox News for breaking news alert on whatever was going on in Brussels. People didn't hear it. Here's what I said about Cruz, and I'm just gonna read it from the transcript. I'd have to play a two-minute bite to get to it.

large

Brilliant, conservative through and through, trustworthy, strong, confident, leader, somebody in whom you can totally depend." Wallace did not ask for an expansion on any of those, so he went next to Jeb Bush and on down the line. So that's what I said about Cruz. You heard me. Everybody heard... Well, they might not have heard what I said, that's right, because they didn't come back until the discussion of Rush Revere and the Star-Spangled Banner. Okay, what I said about Jeb Bush:

"I don't think he really wants to do this. I'm watching and I don't see passion, I don't see fire. It's as though people in his camp want him to do it because they want to get back in power. But I just don't see Jeb with all that energy that says, 'I need this. The country needs me. I can't wait to do this.' I just don't see any of that." He didn't ask about Kasich. You know, when this whole thing started, I didn't know that there was such a thing as a lightning round, and nobody told me there was gonna be one.

So I don't know what names he's gonna throw at me. I assume he's throwing Republican primary names at me. (interruption) (laughing) Snerdley knows something that you don't. When this was all over and we're doing the postmortem on the interview here, the staff is asking me about that, and I said, "I kept waiting for them to mention Kasich." That's who I thought they were gonna get to eventually, mention Kasich. They didn't ask about Kasich.

So now Snerdley is in there trying to stir things up by asking me over the IFB, "What were you gonna say with Kasich?" I'll bite. What I was going to say about Kasich is I knew him when he was a genuine Newt-style Republican freshman conservative back in 1994-95. That's all I was gonna say. I knew him when he was a conservative. (interruption) They didn't ask about Rubio, either, and I thought it was kind of puzzling.

You know, Rubio was the first guest, and Rubio showing up at number three in these polls. You've got... Well, I take it back. You know in Iowa, yeah, Rubio... You know who's up? Cruz is number two, and in fact, where is the story? It's another prediction that I made that is coming true, and I might have put... Here it is. "New Poll Shows One Candidate Make a Major Move Up." No, it's not Jeb. It's the DailyWire.com, and I did. I've had a lot of people e-mail me about this.

You know, I've been telling everybody that if you're looking for a dark horse out there, it's Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz is just positioned to pick up anybody's slack, anybody that falls or starts losing their position. So Cruz has jumped to number two in Iowa. Rubio is number three. And Trump just continues to dominate nationally and everywhere. I don't know what I would have said about Rubio. I'd have to make it up here. I really wasn't...

The name I was waiting for was Kasich, and I don't know why. I don't know why that was, but, you know, as this whole segment is happening, I'm trying to figure who's the next name he's gonna mention. I want to try to get a head start on thinking it, even though it's the lightning round. And I didn't get the question on Kasich. Rubio... You know, I like Rubio. I think Rubio would be closer to the top tier if it weren't for the Gang of Eight.

Immigration's the number one issue. Immigration is it, in this Republican primary. And Senator Rubio had that fleeting moment with Chuck Schumer and the Gang of Eight way back when they thought that securing him in their group, Republican Hispanic, would help him and help sell the thing, and it just didn't work out that way. So off the top of my head, that would have been what I would have said more than likely. But who really knows? The moment has passed.

I taped it so my TV won’t be infected by Faux News. We watched the 11 minutes of Rush and erased it. Go One America News! OAN is what Faux says it is.

Cruz is the ONLY conservative on the ticket.

There isn’t a ‘ticket’ yet. That doesn’t happen until the convention.

Fair enough. Cruz is the only conservative running for the party’s ticket.

IF Cruz were to win the nomination, you do realize that the odds favor him ending up like Barry Goldwater in ‘64?

I’ve been supporting Cruz since before Trump got into the race but you know and I know that between the ‘RATS and the RINO GOPe, they would do to Cruz exactly what they did to conservatives in 1964.

That doesn’t mean that I would be at all heartbroken with Cruz at the top of the ticket, far from it. But the reality is, Cruz has already been unfairly smeared as being ‘too right wing’, he is inexorably associated with government shutdowns (which WE know isn’t a bad thing, but the way the media spins it, he’ll be painted as cutting off Social Security checks, starving Grandma, and evicting kids from their government-subsidized apartments).

And the biggest factor? Cruz has to somehow catch up with and overtake Trump so far as polls, support and money are concerned. Can Cruz match Trump when it comes to financing?

Doubtful.

Many said Reagan couldn't win because he was too conservative, and we know how that ended.

If those who consider themselves conservatives would support the conservative Cruz over the lifelong liberal Donald Trump, he could get the nomination. But they would rather support the Paris Hilton of politics because he "said" he would build a wall. No thanks.

There is much more to it than that. Doesn't it strike you kind of funny that solid conservatives like Sarah Palin (who said about Trump "thank God he's running"), Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama (who is nobody's fool), Senator Ted Cruz himself who has had zero criticisms of Trump, and the latest hard core conservative Constitutionalist, former Congressman Virgil Goode of Virginia, has come out to endorse Trump?

You're not going to convince anyone that THOSE esteemed conservatives are going to automatically sign on with a 'lifelong liberal'.

I trust their judgment.

I refer to Trump as a lifelong liberal because it's true; he has a history to support that statement. And those conservatives (Rush included) are happy to see Trump"Brilliant, conservative through and through, trustworthy, strong, confident, leader". He said it about Cruz because Cruz is the only conservative in the race and Rush knows it.

What Rush did say about Trump speaks volumes. He said: Donald Trump is I think doing a great service. He is showing that you do not have to fear attacks from the media. Republicans do not have to fear attacks from the media. He's showing you do not have to fear being politically correct or violating political correctness."

Trump is a tool, and he is anything but conservative.

Perhaps you overlooked the question I asked in my previous post:

There is much more to it than that. Doesn't it strike you kind of funny that solid conservatives like Sarah Palin (who said about Trump "thank God he's running"), Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama (who is nobody's fool), Senator Ted Cruz himself who has had zero criticisms of Trump, and the latest hard core conservative Constitutionalist, former Congressman Virgil Goode of Virginia, has come out to endorse Trump?

For your convenience, the Trump 'Fool Checklist':

Sarah Palin ______ YES / NO?

Jeff Sessions ______ YES / NO?

Ted Cruz ______ YES / NO?

Virgil Goode ______ YES / NO?

If you think the above conservatives are fools for supporting or refusing to criticize Trump, by all means tell us.

You've clearly over imbibed in the Trump Kool-Aid. So be it.

Here's a secret for you, just because they are happy he is running doesn't mean they want him to get the nomination. Do you really believe Cruz does? Apparently so.

I've had my weekly fill Trumpanzee lunacy. Bye.

Let the record show that you were unable to effectively respond with anything meaningful, defaulting to the ineffective 'Trump Kool-Aid' insult. Conservatives such as the ones I cited must also have imbibed of that 'Kool-Aid' as they would certainly NOT remain silent if they believed that Donald Trump was a 'lifelong liberal' as you do.

Ted Cruz obviously agrees with Trump in many areas, and they have worked cooperatively. Likewise Cruz refuses to jump on board with the TDS crowd and attack Trump. You would so well to emulate his superior example.

Speaking of TDS ... you ought to begin considering professional help. Here: begin the first step by admitting that you do in fact, suffer from that affliction:
