Paris repeat? Bomb attacks thwarted in Germany

Potentially lethal bombings at two sites in Hanover, Germany were defused on Tuesday night, just days after Muslim terrorists carried out lethal coordinated attacks in Paris.

The similar nature of targets selected in the attempted bombings Tuesday make it likely to have been an attempt by Islamists to repeat the carnage in Paris on Friday, in which 129 people were murdered.

Shortly after the German national soccer stadium in Hanover was evacuated on Tuesday night, reports revealed the cause: an ambulance loaded with explosives was discovered parked outside.

The discovery at the HDI Arena came just before an international friendly between Germany and the Netherlands which was canceled, reports the British Mirror. The German national team was whisked off to a secure area of the stadium.

The police chief of Germany's Lower Saxony region Volker Kluwe told NDR that authorities "had concrete intelligence that someone wanted to set off an explosive device inside the stadium." The game was canceled about one-and-a-half hours before it started.

It appears that the ambulance found packed with explosives was actually an ordinary truck disguised as an emergency medical vehicle to enable a potentially lethal explosion targeting unaware civilians.

Another site in Hanover was also evacuated by police on Tuesday. The 14,000 seat TUI Arena, a music arena, was to hold a concert by the band The Söhne Mannheims.Police received a "concrete threat" about a bomb, according to the German DPA.

Now it's time to play the new reality show: Piss Off Europeans. Lucky contestants who finally piss off the prissy continent can expect to be bombed into the stone age, have their nationals living in Europe forcible ejected, and maybe annihilated. Those who fail to do it will be reassured over and over and over that they can keep on raising hell and not getting blamed for it.

I'm curious why Frau Merkel is such a staunch "open borders" pol; who is paying her and how much?

She had to know incidents like this would become an almost daily occurrence.

ISIS needs to remember Europeans have a brutal history, including throwing folks into gas ovens.

{”She had to know incidents like this would become an almost daily occurrence.”}

Kind of ironic that she has created life in Israel right there in Germany.

I was about to say that it's especially troubling when you consider that Merkel is supposedly representing Germany's more conservative party, but then I recall how most of our Republicans are as much in favor of open borders as the Democrats.

Now just a cotton pickin’ minit here. Let’s be fair. They threw the last bunch of people who pissed them off into gas chambers and then into ovens to get rid of the bodies. One Jew only killed one lousy diplomat to start that ball rolling. This time the putative victims are seriously asking for it.

Wow, the terrorists aren’t wasting their time with the little stuff, they’re going for murder on a massive scale. Mordor confronts Germany while Merkel plays her fiddle.

Like Vlad the Impaler. I believe he turned back the Islamists in his own special way.

An interesting take on the "refugee" problem at Germany: How Did the Pro-Asylum, Pro-Immigration, Pro-Refugee Idea Occur

Recaps:
1. They never saw it coming.
2. The Berlin crowd leading the country aren't the same competent group who lived for several decades in Bonn.
3. The population spiral.
4. The willingness to look through the Islamic threat and try to think of the bulk of Muslims being friendly.
5. The acceptance of multi-cultural values.
6. The efforts of the news media to make the Syrians into victims.
7. Cheap help.
etc.

A lot of this sounds familiar.

Ahh, that sounds like the first location report.

The second report (an ambulance) is at a different location.

Re 5, Germany is singularly vulnerable. Thanks to Adolf & Co., the very idea of nationalism in Germany has become suspect to Germans themselves. So they might become really sappy for all the multicultural crap where a nation with a less extreme history would say WTF? It’s overcompensation, and it is not healthy.

Outside the sports stadium in Hanover; some are spelling that Hannover. Source was (spelling?) Aretz Shuva. The latter reported an ambulance packed with explosives or a truck made to look like an ambulance.

I'm wondering if our media are telling us the truth, or the German powers that be are telling the truth, or when a story is breaking, things often get confused.

Check this out, from GOPJ's link:

Local newspaper Kreiszeitung reported a vehicle disguised as an ambulance and packed with explosives had been discovered parked outside Hannover stadium as Germany prepared to take on the Netherlands.

Shortly after a concert venue, also in Hannover was evacuated as police ramped up security and part of Hannover's main railway station was closed due to a police investigation.

German media reported that the country's Minister of Interior Thomas de Meizere refused answer questions about the terror attack saying: “Some of these answers would unsettle the population.”

It is as I feared if the above quoted material is true (3 paragraphs, Mirror uk, courtesy GOPJ), it is probably worse than we are being told. Good thing much of it is getting out here and there.

A truck bomb really ups the ante. They can kill as many as the total from November 13 in Paris and then some and injure many more. I don't have to tell you people that, just considering what I read.

Our anti-terror force is good but are they good enough for the apparent new onslaught?

To your question, they can never be as good as they wish to be, and the open boarders have already let in the wolf.

Now it’s just a question of when and exactly where.

Agreed. Go to the first page of WAPO and scroll down to "The Islamic State's suspected inroads into America, with a map of the US in gray and white with rose-colored dots. Click on the link.

They have done pretty good work to have foiled the ones listed with details. I suspect it's just the tip of the iceberg of what's out there.

One in my state isn't on there, buying up lots of guns by a family or individuals who aroused the suspicion of the gun store owner. Can't remember where they were shipping them to.

Found it, just this past May.
