None of these Reserve centers have guards on duty. The do however have multiple security measures in place.
It takes two people to open the vault. Inside the vault there are several alarm sensors including motion, temperature, and sound. (voice) , vibration, as in tumbler drilling, all of which are connected to a local police systems and higher headquarters office. To include outside alarms. Once inside you only have 10 seconds to identify yourself before the alarm goes off. Additionally, all vaults are constructed of three feet of reinforced rebar concrete, which also includes the roof. Some vaults also have three inches of plate steel installed on the walls. The vault door is similar to a bank vault door. Very thick and very heavy.
That being said, by regulations, if any of these systems are off line, they are required to either remove the weapons to another secure location or post a 24hr guard. They know exactly what is in the vault, by serial number and location. The weapons themselves are locked up in their own weapons racks as well. And the racks are bolted to the wall. No ammo is allowed to be stored with the weapons.
In many cases the bolts for machine guns are removed and stored in a separate safe bolted to the floor

Maybe the armory needs to institute WalMart security - that’s where an elderly person asks random folks to show their receipts, then runs a thumb down the list as if actually checking items off and then smiles and bids you a good day....
