Those professors have reaped what they have sown.
Resignation of the Dean of Students at a university is not usually a national news story.
It’s not normally even a local news story.
>>Well, I think we’re actually seeing the rise of a kind of incipient baby fascism
I’ve been calling them proto-fascists.
These people aren’t “forced” to resign.
They let themselves be browbeaten into destroying their own careers by mobs of unruly adolescents.
Profs everywhere with tenure need to stand up like they are unionized and speak out for the first amendment, liberal progressive conservative fascist...this should be something all educated and uneducated Americans stand up and shout back for. This is why the flag and all those white crossed and hunched over men of old...and new!
Shout back like your life depends on it, because your life, like really, like, depends on it, like I know, right?
I don’t even understand the concept of “being forced to resign”. Is there a perk available if they resign before they can be fired? I’d let them fire me.
Samuel Colt saw to it that you won't need to.
Lord o’ mercy. I’ll be so happy when the 1960s is over.
Jack Hammer is an Old Man now. Thankfully, he won’t be around to see all this crap.
I am in 100% agreement with the students. Give them the state universities and every school that accepts fed money. It’s time to let this movement reach its logical conclusion. There is no turning it back so let the schools fully embrace it so we can start rebuilding g on the smoking crater it will leave.

In media parlance, it used to be if it bleeds, it leads. Now apparently it has morphed into if it yells, it sells. This was perhaps 1000-2000 students at a university of 38,000 students making all the noise. The media would have us believe that this is a national tremor encompassing a majority of college students when in fact like Operation Wall Street and Black Lives Matter it was a small minority of left wing nutjobs using the press as its national bullhorn to create the appearance of the validity of their cause.Apparently, that is how these cancers grow nowadays.
hmmmmm....I seem to remember s similar line in a song from the 1930s or 40s.
For later
Wait until next November when they say these words: “President-Elect Donald Trump”.
At Claremont, the dean resigned because her otherwise gracious and sympathetic email contained the clumsy phrase about “not fitting the mold.” What she meant, of course, was that minority students face a situation in which exposure to the mainstream Western cultural tradition is exposure to something that is foreign to them.
You guys... Does the title give you creepy goosebumps like it does me?
Steyn loves musicals. He is referencing the creepy-perfect number in the stage play of the Sound of Music that they left out of the movie version. It’s a choir of perfect blond Nazi boys singing “Tomorrow Belongs To Me.”
It’s such an important part of the play because the boys are good looking, their voices are beautiful, and tomorrow did belong to the Nazis’ children, a very evil tomorrow, UNLESS SOMEONE ANNIHILATED THE NAZIS.
I have goosebumps.
Oh, and I love Mark Steyn. He is right on in all his quotes in that article.
