He made his comments Wednesday, following a September report by the VA’s Office of Inspector General that calculated more than 300,000 veterans died while waiting for treatment. Speaking to about 175 people at a VFW post, Cruz said that he believes every veteran should have a choice of where to seek medical treatment.

I think if you offered a government employee-like health package deal...most people would turn down the VA option and walk away. The VA has screwed up enough....that well over half of all vets don’t respect the VA and question just about everything they are told.
I guess Ted wanted to do something other than talk he could actually introduce some legislation since he’s on the Armed Services committee.
Is he parroting Trump’s plan? How is his different?
Wait, isn’t the same program Trump introduced a month ago.
I’d be in favor of it. Privatized veteran health care would eliminate much of the corruption. The overseeing agency should be headed by a military person and not some politically appointed hack. Keep the feds out of it by having each state with it’s own system headed by their NG commander or his military delegate.
