CLEVELAND (WKYC) – The Cleveland VA Medical Center will open the first VA clinic specifically dedicated to the healthcare needs of transgender veterans.
It will provide transgender veterans with primary care, hormonal therapy, mental health care and social work services. All of the providers in the clinic have a special interest in transgender care and will create an environment that celebrates and welcomes these veterans.
Transgender patients are an important, but frequently overlooked, VA says in a news release. The Cleveland VA currently treats about 20 transgender veterans.
Each year more than 200 patients are newly diagnosed with gender dysphoria across the country, which puts them at a higher risk for tobacco abuse, mental health disorders, and suicide according to Dr. Megan McNamara, who is the clinical lead for the transgender clinic.
A ceremony will begin Thursday at 12:30 p.m. on the second level of the main atrium at the Wade Park facility.
The Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center provides healthcare to more than 112,000 veterans annually through its inpatient and outpatient healthcare services.

Transgender veterans? I don’t know, this comes across as very bias to me. Why are THEY being treated and not transgendered midget Jewish siamese twins? Why are they left out?
Coup de grâce
If it wasn’t messed up enough that we have transgender people, now we have transgender clinics.
Given our shortage of money. No government program should fund any elective activity. That includes viagara, birth control pills, tummy tucks, and dozens more.
Lets put the money on the victims of tragedies not caused by lifestyle choices.
Hundreds of vets have died waiting on health care. But the Obama Admin has it as a priority to build a special facility for a few transgendered people, to roll out the red carpet for them. Obama is smirking and giving the finger to the multitude of normal vets who have to wait and wait to visit a doctor while the transgendered are welcomed first in line at a new clinic just for them.

Anyone else realizes that there is zero pushback from the Stupid Party on these issues? Not even a statement.
There can’t be very many such veterans. It makes me wonder about the huge bonuses that the VA paid out?
