Team Jeb Bush Prepares to Hand Ted Cruz the Republican Nomination
Red State ^ | November 10, 2015 | Eric Erickson

Posted on 11/10/2015 2:03:37 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

"As revenge for their 'boy' becoming his own man, Mike Murphy intends to destroy Sen. Marco Rubio."

Here is something you need to know to this morning - Jeb Bush's Super PAC ads have been terrible. They have not helped Jeb Bush at all. In fact, more Republican primary voters say they would never vote for Jeb Bush than say the same about Donald Trump.

Here is something else you should know - Team Bush premised his strategy on keeping Sen. Marco Rubio out of the race. Bush announced early that he intended to run, then stockpiled his Super PAC before having to cut off ties when formally announced, then saw Sen. Marco Rubio still get in. They are bitterly angry at Sen. Marco Rubio because they see his as a young, upstart Hispanic boy ungrateful to his patrician masters and they want to payback their "boy."

For many of Mr. Bush's longest-serving advisers, Mr. Rubio's run is a personal betrayal: Mr. Bush backed Mr. Rubio's bid for House speaker in Florida and persuaded important donors to endorse him for Senate. A few of Mr. Bush's supporters have taken to calling Mr. Rubio "Judas."

Leading this effort for Team Bush is Mike Murphy, who has decided to drop up to $20 million attacking Sen. Marco Rubio for being a conservative pro-lifer.

You read that right. Murphy's genius plan is to go nuclear on Sen. Marco Rubio in states that have a moderate to liberal GOP voter influence and crush Rubio for being pro-life and conservative.

In an attempt to blunt Mr. Rubio's appeal against a Democratic nominee, Mr. Murphy recently showed some Republicans a video portraying Mr. Rubio as too extreme on abortion. A longtime opponent of abortion rights, Mr. Rubio said in a debate in August that he had "never advocated" laws that would allow abortions, even in cases of rape or incest.

Mr. Murphy has privately said to several people that Right to Rise would be ready to devote up to $20 million to fighting Mr. Rubio, according to several people told of the conversations.

The effect of this will be to hand Sen. Ted Cruz the Republican nomination. Cruz is consolidating conservative support and is going to get a huge bounce into the SEC Primary on March 1st where he will have Texas, plus Georgia and other southern states before Rubio and Bush even get to Florida to battle it out. This effort by Murphy will just hurt Rubio in later states with sizable establishment leaning votes when Rubio needs to overcome the early Cruz lead.

Mike Murphy has built a machine to get Jeb Bush elected and cannot get it done. More and more Republican voters have decided they will never, ever support Jeb Bush. The Bush Super PAC ads have done nothing to boost Bush's popularity. As revenge for their "boy" becoming his own man, Mike Murphy intends to destroy Sen. Marco Rubio. If Bush can't get the nomination, they will make sure Sen. Marco Rubio can't either.

Advantage: Sen. Ted Cruz.

Except Bush was collapsing even when Rubio was still mired in single digits. Whatever drop wasn’t caused by Bush’s own lack of appeal was caused by Trump going after him. So why not get revenge on Trump, Bush’s real nemesis in this race?

And of course the article is still premised on Trump and Carson “flaming out” on their own, which is no guarantee.

The only time the GOP establishment has any passion and strategy is when it fights a conservative (to the establishment, even Rubio is an “extreme” conservative - and uppity because he evidently does not worship Jeb).

This would please me no end to have Ted Cruz as President of the United States. However, I suspect that Mr. Cruz will face violent times in our nation from a many faceted revolutionary and economic disaster. But he will not be alone because it will hit all of us. Just glad we are way out in the country side.

The scenario is this....Bush hits Rubio giving Rubio a boost in polls because Rubio can play the victim card like Carson has been doing to boost his candidacy.

If this plays out its a Republican Establishment passing of the torch from Jeb to Marco.

I see Eric Erickson is still a Trump denier. Trump has been the frontrunner now for 5 months and Redstate still pretends he isn’t running.

More Florida political history.

Donald Trump and Charlie Crist both have, at various times, been members of the Democratic Party, the Independent Party and Republican Party.

http://www.politifact.com/florida/statements/2015/aug/07/marco-rubio/marco-rubio-says-donald-trump-supported-charlie-cr/

...”[Donald] Trump did donate to [Charlie] Crist in the 2010 Senate race and hosted fundraisers for him. The caveat is that Crist was still a Republican at the time.

A [Marco] Rubio spokesman sent us Federal Election Commission reports showing two donations Trump made to Crist’s campaign in 2009: $2,400 on Oct. 16 and $2,400 on Nov. 17.

Trump hosted a fundraiser for Crist at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach on Dec. 11, 2009, and a fundraiser in July 2009 in Long Island. Both events called for at least $1,000 donations.

The Broward/Palm Beach New Times wrote that the Long Island fundraiser was a party hosted by Trump as well as Jill Zarin, one of the stars of Bravo TV’s The Real Housewives of New York City and a friend of Crist’s wife, Carole Rome.

“Let’s hope Crist doesn’t choke on his sirloin if Trump brings up any of his condo projects in South Florida,” New Times wrote. “Buyers in the Trump International Hotel & Tower in Fort Lauderdale would surely be pleased to know that their governor and would-be senator is getting so much dough from the millionaire many of them are now suing.”

Trump also supported Crist prior to 2010. The Tampa Bay Times wrote in 2005 that Trump was slated to host a fundraiser at Trump Towers in Manhattan for Crist’s 2006 run for governor.”...

Still beating that dead horse about Trump’s past donations? Everybody knows he gave to everyone as a businessman. Nobody cares. Get over it.

If that’s the strategy, then I’d assume these Machiavellians intend on Cruz losing to hillary. The deal for them was Jeb or Hillary?

Marco is Bush’s protege. His fallback guy. His trained minion. They are a tag team and there was always a plan between them.

“Mike Murphy intends to destroy Sen. Marco Rubio”

He needs not lift a finger. Just like BabyBush II he’ll
eventually fade away. I have a feeling that the Jebsters
think they will have a better chance forcing BabyBush II
on Cruz than Rubio. You know like they did with
PapaBush on Reagan.

Its Dick Dickson again. I thought he had his 15 seconds of fame locking DDT Diamond Donald Trump out of speaking to Republicans.

Red State is the State he has during his Period, when Dick gets very irritable

At it again are you? Just can’t stand Trump so you air dirty laundry showing his political gifts and political pandering.

Well “Baby Cakes” Trump is a businessman. Politicians are crooks and thieves. He knows how to “play the game” to grease the palms of these politicians to allow him special favors so that he can enrich himself. The politicians love it because they gain the political “war chest” they need to continue their rape of the American people...TO ENRICH THEMSELVES TOO!

Since you seem to have no “worldly” experience in either real life or the business world, I can see how you are blind as to how business and politics go hand in hand...to the point of absolute corruption we have today in all levels of government.

To sum it up: It’s like a pedifile (Politicians) being seduced by a pervert (businessmen with money for bribes and favors) trying to give them candy to get in their car. It’s simply irresistible to a politician and the businessmen know it. The lure works every time.....and the businessmen know it.

Trump’s no exception for he is only one of millions of businessmen handing out the candy for it is absolutely necessary if you want to do business under the crushing regulatory burden we have today.

Get over it!

“Too extreme on abortion”

Hmm, truth in advertising would mean explaining just how extreme America’s position on abortion is in compared with even Europe, let alone the rest of the world.

And how many rape victims are getting late term abortions?

And how many times has Planned Parenthood been busted on tape pressuring young minors to LIE about the nature of their pregnancy so that they don’t have to go to the authorities to investigate rape?

There IS a war on women but the liberals in both parties won’t tell you which side they are really on.

Notice all whiney scum try to blame others for their faults/problems. Rubio’s rise and Bush’s fall are totally separate issues. And why should Rubio follow this loser?

But also consider the source for this story...Mike Murphy and Ericson.....
