CHARLOTTE, NC — After receiving a ton of backlash, a shopping mall in North Carolina has put the Christmas tree back in its Santa display.
In a tweet Saturday night, SouthPark Mall said they would now include a traditional Christmas tree in their display.
The mall in Charlotte had recently announced that when children visit Santa Claus this year, he’d be under a huge faux glacier instead of a Christmas tree.
The mall said their goal with the new display was to be “fresh and exciting.â€
But that idea received cold feedback on social media.
A petition was started on change.org “to bring back the Christmas tree.â€
The post on the petition page reads: “Southpark Mall and Simons Malls have decided to abandon a long-standing tradition of having a Christmas tree in the center of the mall and Christmas tree lighting ceremony. We, the community of Charlotte, feel this is in poor taste and needs to be corrected.â€
By Sunday morning, more than 23,000 people had signed.
A petition from change.org may have influenced the mall to change their minds? Interesting, considering that the majority of petitions generated on that website support leftist causes. Kinda reminds me of what happened to Cracker Barrel when they breifly caved to the gaystapo over the Duck Dynasty fiasco

The malls make most of their money during the Christmas season, not during Ramadan.
Screw em’, I’d still shop anywhere else but there, they made their leanings quite clear and didn’t care what Christians thought until it was going to hit them in the wallet. People need to drive the point....of the stake deep into their heart so they won’t try it again.

These stores should be reminded that without Christmas there is no reason to shop there for Christmas gifts. The 4th quarter will tank and share holders will sell their stock.
Aren’t we supposed to call them “Holiday Trees” now.
Yeah, I heard that accursed generic word “holiday” eight times during football today and it isn’t even Thanksgiving. We know which “holiday” offends them.
Well that idea went over like a lead balloon.
What can they do for an encore; demand a purchase of at least $100. before Santa allows your child to sit in his lap?
If you want Santa to actually say your child’s name, that will cost another $50.

The political correctness of eliminating Santa and Christmas trees may be God’s way of celebrating the birth of Christ rather than the excessive greed & consumption of goods and junk.
As my grandson (6) remarked when asked how he liked his pile of toys.

I posted about this yesterday. Many of my friends live near there and do quite a bit of shopping there and to say they were pi$$ed about this slap in their faces is a very mild understatement. It ain’t over.
Can you imagine the phone e call this morning to the vendor who sold them this piece of crap?
“Ummm...can you come get your glacier? I don’t care what you do with it! Just get it out of nere!”
