Who is the 'Wet Prince of Bel-Air'? LA resident infuriates his neighbors by using a 11.8 MILLION GALLONS of water a year despite the severe drought as a 'posse' sets out to identify him
Residents of a posh Los Angeles neighborhood furious after their neighbor used 11.8million gallons of water while others cut back to preserve the precious resource in the middle of California's drought.
Authorities have refused to identify the 'Wet Prince of Bel Air' , whose home used roughly 90 times the amount for an average household during the year that ended in April.
Some more rural communities have had wells go dry in the state's continuing drought, but other well-to-do residents of Bel Air are disgusted at their neighbor flouting rules with relative impunity.

I don't read many of these water is scarce threads, so I don't REALLY know what I'm talking about .... but ...We can't be too far away from uprising if Californians are righteously pissed about something their state government brought on

My guess is the LA water department will never reveal this user because they consider him a “whale” in the tradition of Las Vegas. In other words, he/she is a cash cow and doesn’t mind paying fines, inflated usage fees and what nots. Money to burn apparently.
It wouldn’t surprise me if this one user is a line item in the LA Water Department budget/revenue side.
Government isn’t about service; government is about revenue.

Very interesting observations. The water department has the ability to end this usage, so if they choose not to, there’s probably a $$$ motivation.

Water is recycled by De Erf. It’s called the water cycle. No CO2 is harmed by water. Burning more petro fuels increases the immediate water suppy though.

How much water does Pelosi use at her two vineyards? It shouldn't be a lot. Grapes are pretty drought tolerant. The best wines around here come from those that are dry farmed.

Ok....I’m not sure how a home, even a huge one, can use almost a Million gallons of water a month....
I can’t imagine the water bill either...

Yep. I don't think we're exporting it off of the planet. It's just not in a convenient form. Money fixes that.
So it's all about money.
