Consulting Firm With Clinton Ties Denies Influencing State Department Policy (Teneo)

The head of a consulting firm founded by one of Bill Clinton's closest aides pushed back against allegations by Senator Charles E. Grassley, the Iowa Republican who is chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, that the firm had undue influence on Hillary Rodham Clinton's diplomatic work.

In a letter to the committee in October, Declan Kelly, the Irish-born chief executive of the firm, Teneo, responded to questions about an agreement that permitted Huma Abedin, one of Mrs. Clinton's closest aides and the vice chairwoman of her campaign, to receive income both from her position at the State Department and as a consultant to Teneo.

In the letter, Mr. Kelly referred the committee to the State Department, which is conducting its own review of her work status. That inquiry is not related to Teneo's work.

18 U.S. Code Â§ 793 - Gathering, transmitting or losing defense information...

(d) Whoever, lawfully having possession of, access to, control over, or being entrusted with any document, writing, code book, signal book, sketch, photograph, photographic negative, blueprint, plan, map, model, instrument, appliance, or note relating to the national defense, or information relating to the national defense which information the possessor has reason to believe could be used to the injury of the United States or to the advantage of any foreign nation, willfully communicates, delivers, transmits or causes to be communicated, delivered, or transmitted or attempts to communicate, deliver, transmit or cause to be communicated, delivered or transmitted the same to any person not entitled to receive it, or willfully retains the same and fails to deliver it on demand to the officer or employee of the United States entitled to receive it; or
(f) Whoever, being entrusted with or having lawful possession or control of any document, writing, code book, signal book, sketch, photograph, photographic negative, blueprint, plan, map, model, instrument, appliance, note, or information, relating to the national defense, (1) through gross negligence permits the same to be removed from its proper place of custody or delivered to anyone in violation of his trust, or to be lost, stolen, abstracted, or destroyed, or (2) having knowledge that the same has been illegally removed from its proper place of custody or delivered to anyone in violation of its trust, or lost, or stolen, abstracted, or destroyed, and fails to make prompt report of such loss, theft, abstraction, or destruction to his superior officerâ€”
Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both.

Since last July, Sen Grassley has been pressing the State Department to answer questions over Abedin's lucrative govt job arrangement.

Sen Grassley's June 13 letter observed...It appears that Teneo Strategies may have been compensating Ms. Abedin for gathering information from government sources for the purpose of informing investment decisions of her consulting clients - or in other words, political intelligence.

Grassley continues: This raises important questions about whether Abedin's dual role was adequately disclosed to government officials who may have provided her information without realizing that she was being paid by private investors to gather information.

Grassley's letter recounted:

<><> Abedin allegedly sent or received more than 7,000 emails on her US government account that involved Teneo's Doug Band, a close confidante and travel companion of the globe-trotting Bill clinton;

<><> one email exchange involved Teneo's Doug Band pressuring Abedin to encourage her State Department boss, Hillary Clinton, to facilitate a White House appointment for one of his clients. Judith Rodin, then-president of the Rockefeller Foundation, "donated hundreds of millions of dollars to the Clinton Foundation," Mr. Band allegedly noted in his email to Ms. Abedin.

<><> email evidence allegedly suggests that Ms. Abedin and another Hillary aide, Cheryl Mills, colluded to find a way to ensure the US govt paid for Ms. Abedin's travel to and from New York."

<><> multiple allegations received by the Judiciary Committee indicated Abedin had actually taken leave during her time as a govt employee, casting doubt on whether Abedin should have received $33,000 in taxpayer money.

<><> allegations surfaced that the State Dept personnel rule was quietly bent to permit Abedin to collect her government paycheck while wielding her influence to the benefit of her other employers.

<><> Hillary Clinton jetted to Ireland with Abedin at her side for her last official trip before exiting the State Dept, during which Hillary attended an event hosted by a major Clinton Foundation donor that had been promoted by Teneo (for which Abedin then-served as a "consultant")

<><> Abedin's special employment status gave her heavy influence over Hillary Clinton's State Dept daily schedule and travel plans at the same time Abedin served as a senior adviser at Teneo, and performed other duties at the Clinton Foundation.

<><> Abedin using information about Hillary's travel schedule in discussions w/ her clients, could be a serious breach of US ntl security, since even the calendar amd travel plans of the Secy of State is considered classified information.

<><> Abedin was among several key aides to Hillary Clinton that hosted email accounts on a private server in the 2016 presidential candidate's Chappaqua, New York home, in violation of federal records laws.

REFERENCE Abedin worked as a full-time staffer to Hillary Clinton January 2009-June 2012; she was then given a "special government employee" designation and took on roles at the Clinton Foundation...... and at Teneo Strategies (that once retained Bill Clinton to work w/ Jon Corzine).

Abedin's State Dept designation is designed to allow individuals who fill an unmet government need for rare or unique expertise" to retain their private-sector positions while receiving compensation from the government.

Abedin is currently vice-chair of Hillarys presidential campaign committee.

U.S. intelligence officials are scrambling to contain damage from potentially hundreds of spy agency secrets in Hillarys private emails...as questions mount over why DOJ has not yet opened a criminal investigation WRT mishandling mountains of classified information....actions far more egregious than ex-CIA Director David Petraeus.....who was prosecuted, and sentenced to two years probation, and a $100,000 fine.

Did the NYT factor in that emails emanating from Hillary's private server contained classified ntl security data?

Did the NYT bother to determine that the US govt tech system is really fussy----particularly about emails from the US State Dept?

Did the NYT determine that a govt official (particularly the Secy of State) cannot simply buy a brand new computer with licenses and programs and expect to have it certified?

Did the NYT report that US govt officials are required to have a government-purchased computer, set up by the govt, utilizing a CACC card cleared technician?

Did the NYT advise readers that even the calendar of the Secy of State is considered classified information?

Last but not least---would the NYT have been this accommodating if the subject of a story was a Republican?

Teneo has been embroiled in unwanted publicity before. MF Global, the international brokerage firm led by Jon S. Corzine, the former governor of New Jersey, that collapsed over bad investments, had used Teneo's services. Mr. Clinton stepped down as a paid adviser in 2012.

LAUGH BREAK Socialist Bernie Sanders is really, really "for the people". At the Demorat debate, he regurgitated his disgust with Wall Street, and those he feels contribute to inequality in America.

We know now that Bernie loves Hillary but hates Wall Street hogging all the wealth leaving the working classes w/ nothing so it was a real tear-jerker when "kindly compassionate" Bernie stoutly defended Hillary's criminality WRT her State Dept emails....as Hillary glowed w/ approval.

EXHIBIT ONE Corzine was fresh out of Goldman Sachs executive suite, buying his NJ Senate seat office for $65 million; then buying the NJ governorship. Out of office, he ran a hedge fund where $1.5 B went missing....that employed both Bill Clinton and then-Secy of State Hillary's top aide Huma Abedin.

EXHIBIT TWO When Chelsea Clinton's husband started a hedge fund, he gained access to investors who had ties to the Clintons and to Goldman Sachs. Back in 2011, Mezvinsky, now 37, and two former Goldman Sachs'ers Bennett Grau and Mark Mallon began raising money for Mezvinsky's Eaglevale Partners LP hedge fund.

Some of Mezvinsky's investors included Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein. Blankfein, a slavish Democrat supporter, said he had "always been a fan of Hillary Clinton." The WSJ reported extensively on the hedge fund's underperformance since its inception and Mezvinsky's mediocre investing and strategizing.

EXHIBIT THREE Then-US Sen Jon Corzine (D-NJ), used his office to pass a special tax exemption for a Japanese bank he owned----his Goldman Sachs crony, Christopher Flowers---adminstrator of Sen Corzine's "blind trust"--- used Corzine's blind assets to takeover the Japanese bank. Corzine later said he "did not know" the legislation he sponsored "benefited" him.

There's a saying in Congress---"One hand washes the other." You vote for my bill; I vote for your bill. So did Did Hillary vote for Corzine's legislation....giving tax breaks for a Japanese bank Corzine's "blind trust" owned?

So what other Wall Street deals did Corzine make w/ Hillary to enrich himself...and her?
