Returning them all those citizens richer than when they left is a valuable, very valuable service. We're entitled to some consideration here.
I nominate ..... Baja California, all the way up to the head of the Gulf and the current U.S. border. Inhabitants to clear out, including Tijuana. Bye.
That will partially compensate us for having to kick the six New England States and downstate New York out of the Union.
We could offer citizenship to inhabitants of Alberta who'll soon be freezing their butts in the Peace River country due to global cooling, and to white South Africans who are getting murdered one by one out in the veldt while the ruling party think their young toughs deserve to "have a little fun" with "the settlers", you know, blow off steam, all that.
Later on, we could extend the offer to eastern Siberians fleeing the Chinese and to Venezuelans who've had a snootful of Hugo Chavez Communism and want to live like people instead.
If we get any more refugees, we could make room by asking California leftists to leave. Like, putting a chop on their passports, revoking their citizenship for sedition (hey, Massachusetts did that to the South for less legal justification -- now it's their turn), and just giving them the boot, just like the Greeks and Romans used to do with obnoxious people. Ostracism. Exile. You're done. Alfa Mike Foxtrot.
Figure we'd go down net about 30,000,000 on the citizen swap with Canada, of whom about 25,000,000 would be hardcore Socialists, Fabians, and CPUSA types, we might pick up about 5,000,000 on the international refugees -- and we'd have to work to keep the Moslems out, who want to do a hijrah attack and Islamize us that way.
Sounds like a full plate of "to-do's" to me.
