KABUL (Reuters) – Medical aid group Medicins Sans Frontieres (MSF) said on Thursday it was hard to believe a U.S. strike on an Afghan hospital last month was a mistake, as it had reports of fleeing people being shot from an aircraft.

At least 30 people were killed when the hospital in Kunduz was hit by the strike on Oct. 3 while Afghan government forces were battling to regain control of the northern city from Taliban forces who had seized it days earlier.

Sorry, this was/is a mess. What really gets me is the no guns sign in the article photo. Maybe they should have had a no missles/air strike sign?

The report said many staff described “seeing people being shot, most likely from the plane” as they tried to flee the main hospital building.

Did they use a Sopwith Camel for the airstrike?

Once you allowed ‘Islamic gun clubs’ within your compound....you aren’t a hospital anymore. I don’t have much sympathy for these guys....they didn’t keep their neighborhood clean.

How come Obama isn't being charged as a war criminal for this atrocity? That was the typical leftist reaction when Bush was running the war machine.

It’s not hard to believe that MSF is giving aid and comfort to islamo jihadi.

While Putin is busy bombing ISIS terrorists; Obama is busy bombing doctors and hospitals.

Obama is an embarrassment.

I am convinced that terrorists were operating from the hospital. Doctors without Borders is a far Left group. I would feel badly about this if I thought all the people killed were innocent.

“I am convinced that terrorists were operating from the hospital. Doctors without Borders is a far Left group. I would feel badly about this if I thought all the people killed were innocent.”

Why would Hussein, terrorists’ best friend, intentionally bomb left-wingers or terrorists on America’s behalf?

Sometimes he makes a mistake and lets the Military make it’s own decisions?

So, who exactly did we kill? A bunch of injured terrorists? Was Achmed once again in their midst? Again I say, So?

You mean 0bama bombing a hospital? That has already disappeared from the news. Not a word. Nothing. If it had been a Republican president, the NYT would have it on their front page every day for 6 months.

“Sometimes he makes a mistake and lets the Military make it’s own decisions?”

Like the cashiered soldier who stopped the rape of a child on our base in Afghanistan?

Swift punishment would be meted for sure.

MSF (Doctors Without Borders, in English) was in direct support of the Taliban during their major assault to capture the city of Kunduz, setting up and operating a field hospital for the Taliban.

During the battle, the only place safe from air attack was the hospital, so the Taliban moved their command post and other key assets in, making it a legitimate target.

Either MSF got used by the Taliban, or they thought that they could provide cover for combat operations.

Either way, Good shooting.

A building housing a terrorist is a target. Whether that terrorist is horizontal or vertical does not change that fact.

People assisting terrorists are terrorists. Whether they wear a lab coat or a suicide vest does not change that fact.

Terrorists operate outside Geneva protections. No one is obliged to follow non applicable rules.

In war, people die. In this case, the right people died. Innocents. if any, were the victims of the terrorist’s and their assistants.

MSF/DWB is a terror group. They violate borders and assist terrorists. Kill them all.

I don’t believe it was a mistake either. The jihadis use hospitals for cover and to store their weapons. Sometimes hard choices have to be made.

"do planes strafe with gunfire anymore?" Not the WWII way, but we do. AC-130 "Spectre" gunships are able to place very accurate automatic canon fire (25-40mm)
