Unfortunately I can’t read the article yet (network erros) but besides (or in addition to) the immigration issue a major reason Trump is doing so well is that more and more people are increasingly seeing the federal government as our enemy.
We believe Trump, with all his brashness, and “who gives a damn” independence, will be willing to bitchslap entire agencies that desperately need to be bitchslapped.
We want the federal jackboot off our necks and Trump is the only one (so far) who has addressed that concern loudly.
Please note that I think Cruz and Carson would also make a good president, but Trump has been loudest and angriest lately, and WE THE PEOPLE are in a very loud and angry mood towards the thugs in DC

The state of our nation today is similar to a pressure cooker with the safety valve locked down.
One reason our founders gave us protected free speech is that they knew and understood the need for people to express their displeasure over anything bothering them. Allowing people to vent is a way of releasing pressure.
The left and their friends in the media have pretty much effectivly shut down free speech, and free association, which would be enough to get people angry.
Add to that the open borders allowing millions in from other cultures who upon arrival immediately demand we meet their needs and honor their culture while at the same time attempting to destroy ours.
Add to this the social changes that the American people clearly did not want, unlimited abortion, same sex marriages, and putting the “rights” of very sexual deviant ahead of everyone else even to the point of the Federal Government suing school district to allow boys to shower with young girls.
Add to all this, even when the people manage to win an election, the politicians immediately forget who put them there and continue business as usual.
And last, even when the people go to the poll and vote for something, if it is something the left does not like, they either ignore the results, or go to court and some judge rules against the people.
The American people no longer feel those that are governing them are listening to what they have to say. They are angry, very angry. The political class can not understand that anger, so they pretend it is just a small “extreme” portion of the country that are angry.
Like him or hate him, Trump is giving those Americans a voice.
No one can predict the future, but I would suspect that if the establishment somehow finds a way to shut Trump out the pressure cooker may explode with unknown consequences.
