I can't get too worked up about this kind of stupid fight as any kind of big picture problem. It's the muggings that turn into attempted murder that are the bigger problem. A similar kind of stupid fight ended up with the Chinese guy in a body bag and the white guys getting no prison time. An excess of alcohol and testosterone makes people do stupid things. But stabbing an unarmed man in the back is not the way pub brawls are supposed to be conducted.

Going back further in time, a sense of fair play seems not to have animated this particular incident. The white perpetrators, who were acquitted, were presumably not influenced by Chinese culture in deciding to conduct, out in the open, a massacre fueled solely by bloodlust.

A bar fight is the epitome of stupid.

But for a slimy little weasel to dance around to the back of a man and stab him several times, in the back, is the height of cowardice.

I don't care what his motivation was, whether the damned bunch of them were all homosexuals, members of the local Tong, Thuggees from India, makes no difference.

Only a slimy weasel of a coward would stab another man in the back, while he was occupied with and dealing with another man to his front.

There is no excuse.
