Super PAC Fires Cruz Missile at Boehner

John Boehner's House speaker seat is barely cold — but that's not stopping Sen. Ted Cruz's supporters from airing a radio ad ripping the former GOP presiding officer on Capitol Hill.

In the ad, paid for by a super PAC backing the Texas Republican who is running for president, a female narrator refers to Boehner once taking a mildly profane swipe at Cruz, The Washington Post reports.

The narrator, who identifies herself as a mother of two, complains Boehner "attacked Ted Cruz, referring to him as a pain in the you know what because of his bold actions fighting to keep the promises he made to me."

At a Colorado fundraiser earlier this year, Boehner reportedly called Cruz "that jackass."

In response to Boehner's insult, Cruz told Hugh Hewitt's radio show: "The speaker is entitled to express whatever views he likes, but I'm not going to respond in kind. And I think the American people are not remotely interested in a bunch of politicians in Washington bickering like schoolyard children."

But with Boehner out as House speaker, that sentiment has apparently changed and the Ohio Republican is now fair game.

According to The Post, another of the super PAC ads goes after Cruz's presidential competition, stating: "Some candidates talk about religious freedom. Only one has fought for it."

The ads, paid for by Keep the Promise I, a super PAC funded by hedge fund multimillionaire Robert Mercer, are airing nationally and on local radio stations in Iowa and South Carolina.

Should I ever see Bonehead in person, I look foreard to giving that SOB the dreaded double finger salute followed by an appropriate verbal collection of four letter words accurately describing that bottom dwelling low IQ slime mold.

There is no such thing as bad publicity - so why is Cruz (or his proxies) giving ousted Boehner more where there was none?

Haven’t heard that one.

Did hear a Cruz ad a few minutes ago on Rush, paid for by a PAC, praising his record on gun rights.

Very Shrewd of the Cruz PAC!

Respond to parting shot from Boehner, rather that seeming to warn Ryan.....while having the same effect.

The publicity is for Cruz, and the ad just reminds people that Cruz hates Boehner and what he did just like they do.

Says who?

so why is Cruz (or his proxies) giving ousted Boehner more where there was none?

Is Boehner running for office? Don't see any downside in trashing Boehner.

I’m not seeing any upside in spending money, time and attention in doing so.

1. It's not Ted Cruz spending his hard cash. This is soft money SuperPAC money over which Ted Cruz has ZERO control.
2. It's a wedge issue. It's like when Ted Cruz attacked the mainstream media at the last debate. His numbers went right up. Boehner is one of the most hated GOPe figures amongst conservatives. Hitting him can only be good for ANY candidate.
