After years of delays and failed launches, Obamacare has finally taken hold, and with it the economic and financial implications from this mandatory tax are finally being felt.
We have extensively covered how Obama's Affordable Care Act will end up being a failure, observing both the economic implications in "In Latest Obamacare Fiasco, Most Low-Income Workers Can't Afford "Affordable Care Act" as well as its operational shortcomings in "Obamacare Is A Disaster: Co-Op Insurers Across America Are Collapsing, And Now There Is Fraud", paradoxically even as Obamacare - a tax - was according to the BEA the single biggest contributor to GDP growth in the third quarter.

Wow, who would have ever seen this coming? /sarcasm
People will just stop paying premiums.
But-but-but this isn’t what I signed up for, Ma. Why do I HAFTA do this?
Bait-and-switch has been raised to an art form.
“People will just stop paying premiums.”
Already there. I’m better off using savings to buy doctor care direct. Or self medicate and lead a healthy lifestyle.
This is what I am doing as well.
It was already true but will become even more true:
People can pay for health insurance (premiums, copays, deductibles) or health care ... but not both at the same time.
This is an easy dilemma for me. I choose to pay for health CARE.
the low income workers are getting huge subsidies and better policies than people who work and earn above the poverty and 250% of poverty lines.
They are being subsidized by people who work and do even moderately well.
The sh** hasn’t even hit the fan yet. If you signed up last year....you have to sign up again...They’re watching you and your accounts.
This is a big deal!! /Joe Biden
I left out his curse word.
It’s the new reality for a lot of us, bro.
(as we’ve discussed)
Mine are up about four percent for next year.
Obama’s Affordable Care Act is a total farce.
Prior to Obama my wife and I were paying $6500 per year for “near” Cadillac insurance policy.
We are now paying more than $13,000 for the same coverage.
Adding salt to the injury is that I became eligible for Medicare two years ago. One would think that my decades of contributions to Medicare would result in lower health care insurance. But alas, under Obama my costs are now higher.
I do not understand why there are so few comments on the huge increase in health insurance costs.
It’s the deductibles that are killing me.
The cost is premiums plus deductibles.
I’m about 10k. After 10k, then my insurance begins paying 75%.
Five years ago I was 5k then insurance began paying.
0bamacare really sux.
I’m gonna puke.
We live in a world that has been turned upside down, and then has been given a twist.
“””We live in a world that has been turned upside down, and then has been given a twist.”””
So much of what Obama and his crew have done is to reward bad behavior.
Those who worked hard always knew that our health insurance also paid for those who did not have insurance.
Now Obama has come around and encourages people to not work and instead live off government handouts.
In order to make that plan work, Obama has to grab even more money from the workers to pay for the existence of the slackers.
