In the early morning hours of October 31 the tranquility of downtown Colorado Springs was interrupted by multiple shootings in which three innocents were killed before Colorado Springs Police were able to kill the gunman in a shootout.
The Colorado Springs Gazette reported that just before 9 a.m. residents who heard the gunshots looked out their windows to see a man with a rifle. A 21-year-old witness named Matt Abshire said the gunman âshot a person on Prospect Street and two more near El Paso Street.â
Police had been called and arrived to confront the gunman just after he had shot the two individuals near El Paso Street. Once confronted, the man began to fire at police and was killed. No details on the gunman nor possible motives have been released.

Interesting that the shooter could hit three people but miss the cops. That should be proof enough for anyone that if you have a gun and can shoot back it lessons the perp’s sill level.
Colorado Springs is a conservative city.
This is unusual.
Then again, if he didn’t have his AR-15, he wouldn’t have gone out on a deadly rampage.
Yeah, sure.
Using Liberal logic then, everyone should be forced to join the NRA and voila, no more killing!
By jove, you've got it!
Probably another assault weapon dragging it’s unwilling owner to a mass shooting.
CO Springs is supported mostly by far with government funding, and there are gobs of folks from the Middle East there.
Many in government positions, being originally from New York or New Jersey (some after short stays in California), publicize CO as being very conservative. It is, in fact, very regulated and very socially liberal. Big marijuana operations are popping up all over the Range. Crime is already going up.
Ergo, it must be something "black" or "Muslim" related. There is no other reasonable explanation.
No. It’s an open carry city and the CC isn’t hard to get.
It’s strange, more than 24 hours later and nobody seems to know the shooters name. It will be interesting to hear the local talk show tomorrow, hopefully he has some more information.
