Live right now
Contacted my Republican senator asking him to join the filibuster, or at the very least, vote against this debt ceiling/spending monstrosity. Hoping he will do something to stop it.
My other Senator is a Dem party hack who will vote whatever way the party tells him to. He’s a lost cause.
Is Cruz back in Washington? He needs to join the filibuster.
Right now, the Senate is talking about Highway Funding. Sen. Carper D-Delaware is mumbling on the floor now.
Test vote at 1 am, so he doesnt have to hold the floor as of yet. He was on earlier, but I guess that was just to introduce Cut, Cap and Balance act.
As soon as I read that, I just knew you were from Pennsylvania. A check of your FR member page only confirmed it.
If it wasn't for his last name, Bob Casey would be the assistant driver on some turnip truck somewhere.
Well welcome to Free Republic, 30 day celebration.
Cruz and Mike Lee need to pitch in again, but the real goal is we the people must burn up the phone lines.

Call your House Rep as well. I know it passed, but they all need to be frightened:

Remind Ryan that we know that this is his deal:
Ryan, Paul D. Wisconsin 1st District 202-225-3031
God bless Rand Paul.
Why did Brat and the Freedom Caucus abandon THEIR promises and cave in to Paul Ryan who in turn ratified this unlimited increase in the debt ceiling?
Go Rand!
Don’t want you as a President. Don’t take it personally. But I have respect for your fight in Congress.
Keep it up.
Agreed. We need many more like him. God bless him.
Thanks!
Did they? I assumed since Paul Ryan needed over 40 Democrats to win the Speakership they kept their promise. Paul Ryan had a rigged election from the beginning. The budget deal sealed the deal, whatever votes he needed would be provided by the Dems.
I agree with you, this is a good fight Rand...
brat voted no on the bill.
But I think Brat voted “Yes” for Ryan because he folded to pressure to do so.
Oh. I didn’t know they voted on that yet. Thanks for the info.
I called my Rep a little while ago. He is normally a good guy, now and then goes off on some whacky tangent. Like this time. He voted for this damned bill. I let loose on the phone. The young man who took my call was respectful and said he’d heard from a LOT of us who are angry about this vote. John Mica is my rep in Central Florida. His assistant said he voted for it because of the veterans provisions. He otherwise would have voted against it.
Aaarrrgghhhh...
