Bush walks into Rubio's trap
Politico ^ | 10/29/15 | ELI STOKOLS and ALEX ISENSTADT

For Jeb's supporters, it was a night of crushing disappointment.

Jeb Bush needed a big debate performance more than anyone on the stage. Instead, he faded away, and his campaign isn't even bothering to argue otherwise.

Banging on the CNBC production team's door halfway through the debate, campaign manager Danny Diaz reamed the debate host over how little time Bush was getting.

In the end, the one-time front-runner scored less than seven minutes, worse than almost every other candidate.

When the debate ended, Diaz and campaign advisor Michael Steel faced relentless questioning in the spin room about how long Bush would remain in the race.

"I think we're in for the long haul and we're in to win, but I appreciate the question," Diaz said to a reporter asking if Bush would still be in the race by the Iowa caucuses on Feb. 1.

But one week after seeing payroll slashed and consultants fired, some Bush staff wondered what the next round of recriminations would be - and if a blame game was about to begin. Many of Bush's top donors found their already thin confidence further shaken.

"Horrible" is how one Florida-based Bush bundler summed up the night. "He got crushed."

failure can take many forms.

the inability to assert one’s positions into what was at times a free for all, is, must be, judged as failure.

Yeah, that was nine mighty dejected folks last night, let me tell you. And six of them are kin to him and have to sit with him at Thanksgiving, yet.

Jeb is only there because of Daddy and his brother.

The best move Jeb can do right now is to step down.

The longer he stays the more damage his does the Bush family and the Republican party.

It’s a joke Jeb, who is afraid to use the famous name Bush, is even running. It’s as if he is ashamed of his last name. Hence, call me “Jeb”.

What a joke!

From watching Jeb I think he is only in Politics because it is the family business. I think if you could look in his soul, Jeb Bush would much rather be doing other things with his life.

If Rubio received every bit of support Yeb has he would still trail both Carson and Trump by more that 10 points.
If you add the Trump & Cruz numbers together you get almost 50% Trump/Cruz/Carson = over 60%

The GOP-e is in trouble

I think the more attention brought to how the voters have moved passed the establishment Republicans, the better it is for the Republican party in the long run.

I enjoy that the confrontation hurt Jeb, but the fact remains that Rubio is not doing the job that he was elected and paid to do. He is a thief IMHO and that should not be overlooked in glee over Jeb’s demise. Cruz campaigns and still does his job. Even that weird Rand Paul does his job. The wrongs of previous idiots like Juan McAmnesty don’t excuse Rubio.

Jeb Bush: F. Bush was plain awful. He couldn’t dent Rubio. He couldn’t dent Trump. He appeared alternatively bewildered and angry. He sided with the members of the media rather than doing the right thing and tearing them apart, like the other more intelligent candidates. He’s toast. Rubio had the unkindest cut of all: his campaign manager said he wouldn’t critique Bush’s performance because it spoke for itself. Ouch.

It was not a good night for Jeb Bush

Before Jeb started running for President I thought that his son, George P. Bush, might have a real future in politics, possibly even Texas governor someday. Not anymore.

He could be the second coming of Ronald Reagan (he isn’t), but he will now never be able to get past the stigma of his name. No Bush dynasty.

And as soon as some can be found, we'll ask 'em to tell us why.

I couldn't agree more. One look at the guy on the stage and it's plainly clear his heart isn't in this.

Bush, Paul, Kasich, Santorum, Jindal, Graham, Pataki and Gilmore need to come to reality and exit the race. They have no chance.
