Won’t the jets stall out if they track a slow moving blimp?

Stall?
Naw, dirty it up, come in slow over the top, ease back and light the burner to melt a hole in the top.
Save the 20MM for ISIS.
Wait, that would be 23....

Blimps must have gotten faster, or our jets have gotten slower.
And we need 2? Is that a typical government featherbedding?

They use a special flight path that makes a lot of 'Z' shaped turns. Same way they track a little, slow Cessna.
That was my understanding, anyway.
Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

As soon as it gets over an unpopulated area the jets are going to shoot it down. There goes $180 million down the toilet. Somebody is going to be on latrine duty for the duration.

Our jets have radar. They don't actually have to travel behind it the whole way to follow, as some seem to think.
Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
They will correct us both regardless of being right or wrong.

The blimp was spotted over Bloomsburg, Pa. dragging its 6,700-foot cable. The cable reportedly damaged area infrastructure and caused power outages. Good Lord. Could you imagine sitting at your table for breakfast and a giant cable ripping through the middle of your kitchen?

Had to look it up. Noy just a “ballon”.
http://www.raytheon.com/capabilities/products/jlens/
from their site.
Airplanes, drones and cruise missiles pose a significant threat to people, population centers, key infrastructure and our military. Thats where JLENS, a blimp-borne radar system made by Raytheon, comes in.
JLENS, which is short for Joint Land Attack Cruise Missile Defense Elevated Netted Sensor System, is a system of two aerostats, or tethered airships, that float 10,000 feet in the air. The helium filled aerostats, each nearly as long as a football field, carry powerful radars that can protect a territory roughly the size of Texas from airborne threats....
