With the exception of Mrs. Clinton and her email scandal, few presidential candidates of either party have been moved during their campaigns to discuss technology at length. That changes today, as Donald Trump gives an exclusive interview to Breitbart Tech about hacking, cyber-warfare and artificial intelligence.
BREITBART TECH: Whats your position on the NSA? Has it overreached in recent years, or is it an essential line of defense in the fight against terrorism?
TRUMP: The National Security Agency (NSA) is charged with collecting electronic intelligence from a host of sources around the world and from those who live in America who might wish ill on our country and its people. To accomplish that mission, the NSA has been given great latitude in how it conducts itself, especially after the events of 9/11.
To the extent that the agency can accomplish its mission without violating the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution, it should be given as much leeway as possible. However, American citizens are guaranteed certain protections. There must be a balance between those Constitutional protections and the role of the government in protecting its citizens. Congress should continue to be the arbiter of that balance.
BREITBART TECH: What is the current state of Americas cyber defenses? How should the Federal Government protect American businesses from cyber warfare? How would you defeat Chinese hackers?
TRUMP: Understanding the technical aspects of how the Internet works is important to understanding how difficult it is to defend access to American government and private enterprises. To that end, the American government has a responsibility to defend the nation from all attacks, kinetic, cyber or otherwise.

EXCLUSIVE DONALD TRUMP TO BREITBART TECH: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE CREATORS, USERS SHOULD CONSIDER ETHICAL AND MORAL CONSEQUENCES

Interview about cyber security with Donald Trump.
Pretty good grasp of the problems.
Seems like a good match for ShadowAce's "Tech" Ping List. I'll copy him, and Swordmaker and ThunderSleeps in case they're interested...
After I've read the interview I may end up pinging the Windows list too. :-)
Thanks!!
America should counter attack and make public every action taken by China to steal or disrupt our operations, whether they be private or governmental.
We should definitely counter-attack when and where it is advantageous to us. However I would not make public every Chinese action we detect. That gives away what we can and cannot detect, how quickly, etc.
Just like in the bad-old cold war days when the Navy never fully admitted if/when it tracked Soviet subs, if it detected Soviet subs shadowing our subs, etc. You deny any and all information to your adversary.
So keep the Chinese in the dark. They'll never know if they got into the real thing, or not. How close they were, if it was a honey-pot. If we know certain information is compromised (and are therefore taking actions to mitigate it) or not... How much we are learning about their tactics and attack methods... Deny them everything.
> ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE CREATORS, USERS SHOULD CONSIDER ETHICAL AND MORAL
A metal machine that ways a ton or two that’s outfitted with weaponrey could be programmed to do a lot of damage to a politician’s detracters. I’m pretty sure some of the sociopathic narcissists would use it to their advantage and would even laugh as they saw their victims being killed on-screen. Easy to imagine with this administration...

Honestly, I know how these interviews go. This was an e-mail interview and I am betting he wrote this with some input from an advisor. It is very “in-Trump-like” language.
