Possibly Unlawful Russian Air Strikes. Entire Extended Family (of Rebel leader) Killed in Homs

(New York) – At least two air strikes in northern Homs on October 15, 2015, that local residents believed to be Russian, apparently violated the laws of war. The air strikes killed a total of 59 civilians, residents said, including 33 children and a commander of the local armed opposition group. Russia should investigate the attacks.

The deadliest attack hit a house in the village of Ghantou, where the extended Assaf family had taken shelter, killing a reported 46 family members, all civilians, including 32 children and 12 women, first responders and local activists said. The victims were related to a local commander affiliated with the opposition Free Syrian Army (FSA), but witnesses said that he was away from the home at the front lines. The second air strike, on the neighboring town of Ter Maaleh, hit near a bakery, and according to local witnesses, killed at least 13 civilians as well as a local FSA commander who was a Syrian army defector. It is not clear whether he was the intended target, as neither Russia nor Syria have issued statements about the specific air strikes.

Muslims should not hide behind women and children when in Russian gun sights. Ivan views it as an opportunity to reduce future enemies.

This headline is funny, UNLAWFUL air strikes. What is there about warfare the leads one to believe it is loving, kind and careful?

Guess they better call the airstrike police. Lol.
Not to be obnoxious, but all those 20-25 year olds shooting at us today were 5-10 year olds on 9/11.

It does show that Russian intel was good enough to know where a rebel commander was when he was mingling around the human shields. That means they have agents inside the rebels spotting for them? Probably.

So who’s going to serve the arrest warrant? I suggest Barry Soetoro go do it in person.

Stupid ideas like “unlawful strike” are why we lost Afghanistan and Iraq.

It should be a standard rule of war: “If you get between us, and the people we intend to kill, the things we intend to destroy, or the completion of our mission, YOU WILL DIE.”

Hmmmm, what a surprise. Apparently Putin’s troops are operating under different rules of engagements than Obama’s rules of engagement.

I don't see any citation of the actual, agreed-to, law of warfare that was violated.

In fact, the excerpt states that a commander of a local armed opposition group was killed: The air strikes killed a total of 59 civilians, residents said, including 33 children and a commander of the local armed opposition group.

Hiding amongst civilians is NOT a valid defense.

Hey, the drone strikes are nice n legal. The hit list goes from obango over to a secret court where it’s stamped “legal”.

Seems the so called FSA is crying UNCLE and wants the bombing to stop. That means report that Russia is missing targets was probably BS. It seems Russia is hitting on target and hitting them hard.
