In California, two burglars had to cut through a woman’s yard after they allegedly robbed an elderly couple’s home. The woman whose property they used as a getaway path was Marilyn Williams — and the suspects very quickly realized they had chosen the wrong yard to pass through during their crime spree. Williams grabbed her gun when she realized something was going on in her neighborhood. She’d heard a commotion involving the police, so she loaded up and stepped outside.
Williams waited with her rifle, positioned to fire, when one of the burglars hopped over her fence as he attempted to run away from police. Turns out, Marilyn Williams is actually a former high school Junior ROTC member. According to Fox News, she once earned a medal … for marksmnship.
“I kept yelling at him: I’m gonna shoot you!” Williams said after the incident.
Her quick-thinking response to the situation frightened the suspects, who lost track of their evil plans. They wound up dropping not only their gun and a mask, but also a whole pillow case full of jewelry they had stolen.

Luckily she didn’t have to shoot, or she’d have been arrested.

Self defense is illegal in California. I hope she doesn’t get in trouble.

I don’t know about the scope but the rifle is a Benjamin Marauder . . . yes, a pellet rifle . . . an air gun . . . seriously.

Good thing it wasn't the dreaded finger pistol, or even worse, the half eaten sandwich shaped like a pistol. The poor thieves would have 'evacuated' themselves, and the city D.A. would have gone after the lady for cruel abuse of aspiring young street artists.
The Benjamin Marauder is a serious pellet gun. I shoots a 10.5 grain pellet at 850 fps. You could put an eye out with that thing.
Does the Benjamin Marauder shoot a .50 caliber round?
If it were up to the left, this woman would have been murdered in her home had she not had access to a gun.
I used to hunt squirrels with a 760 fps sub-sonic .22 long rifle, out of a Ruger 10-22.
Head shots at 30 yards, thru and thru.
Also, I know for a fact that they will penetrate about the first 60 pages of a CAIR-supplied quran, at about 20 feet.

How was the reliability? I've read that sub-sonics aren't the best thing to use in semi-auto rifles.
The 10-22 has no problem cycling subsonic rounds. Other rifles do.
I like it. Also glad that she did not get scoped by the police while doing this and become a target herself. Technically in oddball leftie communities, this was “brandishment” which is a nebulous term used to justify charges on occasion. Goes to show that people will only take so much— little old ladies in the projects live in fear, and should be able to have a firearm for protection from the dopers and thieves.
In California yes it is the same as a .50 BMG
