Washington (CNN)The Justice Department notified members of Congress on Friday that it is closing its two-year investigation into whether the IRS improperly targeted tea party and other conservative groups.
There will be no charges against former IRS official Lois Lerner or anyone else at the agency, the Justice Department said in a letter.

In the leadup to the American Revolution, England tried to impose a top-down rulership to replace the bottom-up system then in use by the colonists.
One frequent grievance the colonists had was that the “official” Crown courts would ignore crimes committed by Crown employees or those favored by the Crown, even in cases where the colonists demanded action.
The Crown courts were vexed by the opposite phenomenon in which lower courts would not prosecute colonists for things like lax tax collection or land use issues, even when the Crown demanded action (nullification by jury).
There seem to be parallels here. Most of us see grave crimes committed by the FedGov (or people favored by FedGov) that FedGov will not prosecute.
Targeting Conservative groups that is; the IRS never targeted Liberal groups.

Not until the next President. Then they can toss Lerner and cronies into prison where they belong.
If they beat one charge, file another. If they beat that one, file another. Bankrupt them fighting the Federal prosecutors. Keep investigators on them. Find something they did which is illegal, but the bottom line is that the nation cannot heal until it is understood that those people who misuse and abuse their office are subject to the law.

Imagine the continual outrage if a republican administration targeted liberal / progressive groups.
The demands for impeachments and jail sentences would be non stop.

Totally corrupt system... media are compliant. If we get a new president heads need to rifle at DOJ and IRS.
To really push this over the edge (short of armed insurrection).... a state prosecutor in Texas needs to file felony obstruction of justice charges against Loretta Swift in a Texas State court, and demand her extradition to Texas.
We need a Liberty Amendment giving STATE prosecutors the power to prosecute Federal officials for high crimes and misdemeanors.
