Injured officer in critical but stable condition
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. Police say the man accused of shooting an Albuquerque police officer this week was located in a backyard shed with a handcuff still attached to his wrist.
The shooting occurred just before 8 p.m. Wednesday near Central Avenue and Eubank Boulevard. According to authorities, a traffic stop nearby turned into some sort of altercation in which Davon Lymon, 34, fired six shots.
Police say two shots hit Officer Daniel Webster. One shot hit him in the face, critically injuring him. Webster has been in the Intensive Care Unit since the incident and has undergone at least two surgeries.
Lymon is a convicted felon whose criminal history includes voluntary manslaughter, aggravated battery, fraud and forgery.
Chief Eden sounds off on NM justice system
Webster pulled Lymon over Wednesday because he was driving a motorcycle with a stolen license plate, according to police. Officials say that after the shooting Lymon ran, triggering an hourslong manhunt in the neighborhood just north of the shooting.
Officers and a K-9 tracked Lymon to a shed in a backyard around 12:30 a.m. Thursday. They say he was hiding with a handcuff, which was placed on him during the traffic stop, still attached to one of his wrists.
Once hes treated for injuries at the hospital, hell be taken into federal custody. Thats because federal prosecutors say hes a felon who wasnt supposed to have a gun.
Albuquerque police believe theyve located that gun.
There was a woman riding the motorcycle with Lymon, and officers are looking for her as a witness to the shooting.
Webster is the fourth officer to be shot in the line of duty in the Albuquerque metro area this year.
We’ll be told that this thug was just defending himself and the 20 year military vet turned cop was threatening him. Self defense because #blacklivesmatter.
#WoodShedsMatter
Maybe under the old laws of the Old Testament Bible, he should get what he himself passed out: a shot in the face?
The country is going Nutzo.
Hope the last time you had sex with a woman was really, really good ‘cause that’s what it was. The last time.
It’s been a bad few days for law-abiding citizens here in the Duke city. On Tuesday a 4-year old girl was killed in a road rage incident then last night a police officer was shot, the fourth this year. What’s the common link between these incidents? It’s the revolving door justice system here in NM where bail bonds for crime depends on the ability of the criminal to pay it!! A criminal that has no job will receive a low bond and is released. It’s a crazy system!
Prayers up for the wounded officer and his family..... Doom, pain, fear and a hellish long horrible life in prison or slaughter at the hands of other prisoners for the POS coward that shot him....
No thanks to Bill Richardson who abolished the death penalty in 2009 empowering criminals to conduct such acts without fear of said penalty of death......
Stay Safe JJ...
The dems and their BlackLiesMatter allies must be bursting their buttons with pride over the number of cops killed lately. Every republican should be linking their democrat opponents to BLM. Hang BLM around their neck like an albatross. Unfortunately, I think the dems view supporting BLM as a badge of honor. That just goes to show you how despicable the dems have become.
They’re driven from beyond this world by a being who wants nothing better than a chain reaction of vengeance.
And why exactly was this career criminal out of prison? We really need to rethink our release policies and build more damn prisons or else these guys are coming to everywhere. We need to stop letting liberals make us all look stupid. We're not stupid, they are, and it's high time we stood up to them once and for all.
Long prison sentences cost beaucoup $$$ and the “culture” (choke cough puke) in prisons just creates worse monsters and moslem converts.
What this country needs is a LOT and I mean a LOT more executions.
