Sen. Ted Cruzs wide appeal among conservatives was in high gear this weekend as he got rock star treatment at Texas and North Carolina events.
Of six GOP presidential contenders who appeared at an evangelical gathering at the campus of a 7,000-seat mega-church in Texas, Cruz was clearly the favorite, frequently interrupted by cheers and standing ovations.
And he was the winner of the North Carolina Tea Party Constitutional Caucus, in which he won 51 percent of the statewide vote, according to The Hill.
Cruzs popularity among conservatives is no accident.
He has diligently courted evangelicals and Tea Party members for years, and takes the lead on some of the issues that are most vital to them.
At events, the Texas lawmaker thunders his opposition to gay marriage and commitment to defunding Planned Parenthood.
Of the Tea Party straw vote where Cruz beat out other candidates, The Hill quoted the senator as saying in a statement: North Carolina is an important state for the Republican primary, and our campaign will continue to build our team in the Tar Heel state to ensure our campaign is competitive.
The Tea Party will be instrumental in helping to organize and elect a strong constitutional conservative and I am honored to receive their support, said Cruz, who scooped up 51 percent of the votes.
...
When he spoke in Texas, Cruz said that religious liberty was under siege and reminded the crowd about how he waged legal fights to protect religion when he was the states solicitor general,....
When he was done with his speech, Jack Graham, the pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church said: My goodness, you know how to fire people up. You could be a preacher.
Cruz responded: Its even worse, Im a PK, short for preachers kid.

No can do. I can’t stomach Ted’s vote for the Corker Bill.
Also can’t tolerate Ted’s promise to increase H1b immigration by 500 percent.
We need to do the opposite of what Ted wants. Let’s lower H1b immigration by 100 percent!
Legal immigration is tiny compared to illegal immigration.
Anyone that can't tell the difference between legal and illegal immigration is an idiot.

I hated Cruz voting for the Corker Bill. It was one of his few mistakes.
Also cant tolerate Teds promise to increase H1b immigration by 500 percent. We need to do the opposite of what Ted wants. Lets lower H1b immigration by 100 percent!
Trump wants to legalize foreign student graduates. Roughly, 200,000 graduate every year. Many of them apply for H1B.
So it's six of one and half dozen of the other between Trump and Cruz on this.
If America adheres to the U.S. Constitution, it can absorb H1b immigration.

Not really
From:
Immigration Reform That Will Make America Great Again
“mmigration moderation. Before any new green cards are issued to foreign workers abroad, there will be a pause where employers will have to hire from the domestic pool of unemployed immigrant and native workers. This will help reverse women’s plummeting workplace participation rate, grow wages, and allow record immigration levels to subside to more moderate historical averages. “
“Requirement to hire American workers first. Too many visas, like the H-1B, have no such requirement. In the year 2015, with 92 million Americans outside the workforce and incomes collapsing, we need companies to hire from the domestic pool of unemployed. Petitions for workers should be mailed to the unemployment office, not USCIS.
“Increase prevailing wage for H-1Bs. We graduate two times more Americans with STEM degrees each year than find STEM jobs, yet as much as two-thirds of entry-level hiring for IT jobs is accomplished through the H-1B program. More than half of H-1B visas are issued for the program’s lowest allowable wage level, and more than eighty percent for its bottom two. Raising the prevailing wage paid to H-1Bs will force companies to give these coveted entry-level jobs to the existing domestic pool of unemployed native and immigrant workers in the U.S., instead of flying in cheaper workers from overseas.”

Not really.
No, you're missing the point. The legalized students who enter the job market will have the same effect as H1B people who enter the job market.
As I said, its six of one and half dozen of the other.

Again not really.
Foreign students are already legalized to work under the OPT program.
OPT workers enjoy a hiring advantage over Americans in that the OPTs are exempt from employer Social Security tax contributions. That makes OPTs cheaper to hire than American new grads and eligible to become H-1B’s.
Feds dangle $12,000 bonus to firms that hire foreign students

You seem to have missed the following from Trump’s position:
“Requirement to hire American workers first. Too many visas, like the H-1B, have no such requirements”
“Increase prevailing wage for H-1Bs. We graduate two times more Americans with STEM degrees each year than find STEM jobs, “
OTH Cruz want to quintuple the number of H-1B’s who will be eligible for the following occupations:
H-1B’s are not only for STEM work

No. OPT allows students to work for only 12 months, for a time period of when they are in college and up to one year after college.
That has nothing to do with what Trump wants. Trump wants them to stay and work here legally, and he gives no time limit and he makes no mention of hiring Americans first like he does for H1B.
And with H1B at least there are time limits.
Roughly about 240K foreign students graduate each year, so in terms of existing H1B numbers I believe that would be a 400% increase.
You seem to have been given some poor information
OPT visa holders are already eligible to become H-1Bs.THe H-1B is a dual visa - guest workers who are eligible to apply for green card.
While H-1Bvisa has time limits, there is no enforcement.
Visa overstay among Indians, the main holders of H-1B’s has been the fastest growing source of illegal aliens in the US for several years.
The hire americans first requirement is not limited to H-1B’s
“Requirement to hire American workers first. Too many visas, like the H-1B, have no such requirement. “
That is NOT what Trump is proposing. Trump is proposing a legalization for foreign students after they graduate with no expiration and with no requirement that Americans First be hired.
What Trump wants to do is just as bad as expanding H1Bs.
What part of that are you missing?
