Alija Kucuk, 29, of Middle Village in Queens, N.Y., is facing federal charges of interfering with a flight attendant and threatening to destroy an aircraft. He is jailed in Palm Beach County pending a bond hearing Monday in federal court in West Palm Beach.

“WEST PALM BEACH — A New York City man who was arrested last week after FBI agents say he punched a flight attendant and threatened to blow up a jet en route to Palm Beach International Airport was released from jail Monday on a $50,000 bond.....
....The bond was co-signed by his cousins, Adnon Radoncic and Dishire Radoncic, who run a used car dealership in Fort Lauderdale, according to state records. In addition to typical restrictions, like wearing a GPS monitor, surrendering his passport and remaining in South Florida, Kucuk was specifically ordered not to board any planes.”

I’d be surprised if they didn’t carry some handcuff-size zip ties. I often have enough duct tape wrapped around a pencil to do the job. Maybe I should get one of the HVAC flex duct zip ties from the basement and throw it in my carry on bag. They’re overkill for the purpose.

Just a cultural misunderstanding, Your Honor, my client thought that the flight attendant was Armenian and sought to bring their differences to an end.

Our last trip was to NYC several years ago. It would take
a lot to get us on a plane again. Have flown enough in
