"I'm not blaming George Bush," Trump said. "But I don't want Jeb Bush to say, 'My brother kept us safe,' because September 11 was one of the worst days in the history of this country."

“So there’s a good chance that those people would not have been in our country,”

This is a good argument.

And of course, the quote which defines his position is not the headline.

Can’t argue with that at all.

And frankly, none of these should be in this country anymore.

None.

Get out.

You’re coming close to Jumping the Shark, Donald.

And I say that as someone who is very open to supporting you.

Based on the timing of the WTC attack, it would have been the 2nd Clinton term that would have prevented the attack. As much as I recognize that Donald Trump comes from the private sector, it is difficult to expect that a new President taking office on 1/20/2091 could get the entire federal government working to his satisfaction in less than 8 months, or reverse the years of neglect that led to the attack.

So a 1/20/1997 start date would realistically been required.

Donald Trump: I would have prevented 9/11

Is this an exact quote or is CNN making up headlines again?

Find it sad that so many supposed rational people find the truth such an attack on them.

I think if Jeb was not running, W would say “Yeah, it did happen on my watch.” Problem for him is Jeb is his brother and it would be seen as stabbing Jeb in the back so he is keeping his mouth shut.

I think W feels responsible for not stopping 09-11. Based on everything we saw in his relations with wounded soldiers, we know he feels keenly his role in sending Americans into combat. Anyone with any honesty and integrity in a leadership position after a disaster is asking themselves “What if I had...”

If leaders are not asking those questions, they are not fit to lead.

And if any of you want to dismiss me as a “Trumpster” I suggest you go look at my posting history. There has been no more active, passionate W supporter on this board than me.

The truth hurts! George Bush was a disaster for this country. 911, Iraq war and financial melt down in 2008. How can you not put the blame when those 3 disasters happened on his watch? Oh and the other Bush gave us NAFTA and there has been a giant sucking sound evee since!

9/11 was the first year of GWB and his Admin was not quite ramped up. Remember that hijcking airplanes to fly into buildings was something never seen before as well. We should not be importing muslims—period. Look at France, Britain, Norway, Sweden and now Germany. Western leaders are pure idiots to import these dangerous problemistas.

Trump is letting us know what type of person Jeb Bush is....He's not blaming GWB for 9/11, he just simply said it happened on his watch and it did...TRUTH!!!

Trump knows what Jebby is doing, he's using his daddy and big brother to get to the Oval Office, and Trump is MAN enough to bring that out, just like with Pink laced Graham with the phone number, just like with McLame and his b.s. he has thrown around...no body asked him to be inprisioned, Trump has shown us many things about these candidates, and every one of them have been true and have been proven to be true...

If little jebby can't stand the heat of the oven, then he should stay out of the kitchen!!!

Trump is right, but the Bush family bootlickers won't like it.

The primary responsibility of the POTUS is to defend the country. Bush failed. Go cry me a river bushbots!

Instead of attacking Trump for saying this HOW COME Jeb doesn’t educate him and lay the real blame? THE real blame is on Islamic terrorism AND the Clintons. Now why can’t JEb just say this? Because he’s politically aligned with the Clintons and is too cowardly to say Islamic terrorism.

Anyone who thinks that any POTUS can immediately correct everything the previous dipshit traitor POTUS did is living in a fantasyland.

Regarding Trump being able to prevent 911, is not a viable statement. Trump is talking out of his ass, because his mouth knows better. Not a totally unusual SOP for the Donald.

I have no issue with Trump counter-attacking Yeb, but he needs to keep his positions factual and with common sense.

After convincing me of being a straight shooter Trump is wading into forked-tongue territory. When he says he doesn’t blame W for the attacks then proceeds to blame him for the attacks sends a mixed message. It doesn’t matter if he’s right or wrong, this is starting to spread and it’s not sitting well with lots of people. Of course the deadheads in the press are intent on exploiting this
