Colorado's biggest nonprofit health insurer announced its closure Friday, forcing nearly 83,000 Coloradans to find a new insurer for 2016.
Colorado HealthOP announced Friday that the state Division of Insurance has de-certified it as an eligible insurance company. That's because the cooperative relied on federal support, and federal authorities announced last month they wouldn't be able to pay most of what they owed in a program designed to help health insurance co-ops get established.
The Colorado announcement makes the co-op the seventh in the nation to collapse. Similar nonprofit insurers have already failed in Kentucky, Louisiana, Iowa/Nebraska, Nevada, New York and Tennessee.

Just darn... Looks like single payer is now needed
Another Obamacare disaster???? There were reports in recent days of the same thing happening in some other states too.
Where is the media on this???
Can you imagine, if a major Republican program of some kind were passed into law, and that program had utterly failed to achieve the stated goals????
Has Obamacare achieved any of the stated goals? On the other hand, isn’t it a fact that Obamacare has failed by any measure to achieve, or even make progress, against some key goals????
Hey: remember when all you people in Colorado called me a racist Teabagger for not supporting Obama?
Well, try not to get sick out there. :)
There was a Michele Malkin thread on this topic here a few days ago. She lives in CO.
Lies! Obamacare is free. No money is involved.
I hope the insurance companies who signed on to ObaMao Care with the anticipation of big profits from forcing people like me to pay for Sandra Fluke's birth control are going to like being government employees.
NY’s states “coop” in their fascist-style health-care “market” also is closing Jan. 1
200,000 people will again have to find a new insurer.
They rec’d about $170 million in Federal Obamacare grants to establish themselves in the “high risk corridor” before they even sold a single policy
They then lost $70 million in 2014, and lost another $55 million in the first six months of 2015.
NY State’s regulators granted them a 20% rate increase for 2016, but even that wasn’t enough to save their sad-sack, corporatist, facist, Obamacare @sses.
Medical insurance costs are skyrocketing and those of us on Soc Sec get not a penny more.
Not exactly like we can ALL go back to work-—at any price.
No problem —pot is legal there. Have any medical pains and conditions yoy Coloradans?-— just smoke it way. Booooooooolyyyyyyahhhhhh.
Single Payer right on schedule. ETA 2019.
All part of the plan going full speed ahead.

If you like your health plan you can....um...find another one...somewhere...somehow...sometime.
“Can you imagine, if a major Republican program of some kind were passed into law, and that program had utterly failed to achieve the stated goals????”
Think No Child Left Behind.
And you can hear a pin drop in the Pubbie caucus as they seize the issue as multiple exchanges fail and use it to their advantage.
Where are these mopes?
And yet another element of Obamacare collapses right on schedule - as widely predicted years ago by we conservatives, back when no one would listen to us and the media refused to promote anything but wildly optimistic BS and shut us out of the public discussion.
More lies, you also get $2500.00 back.
