The latest large scale poll sample from Morning Consult (pdf below) shows that Marco Rubio and Carly Fiorina are now in a downward trend-line having had their moments of exposure and review. Conversely candidate Donald Trump now begins climbing even higher than previous polled results.
(Via Morning Consult) [ ] Donald Trump retains a wide lead over the rest of the field, with 34 percent of the vote. Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson clocks in second, at 20 percent, while former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) finishes at 9 percent.
Sens. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina are tied with 5 percent apiece, just ahead of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabees (R) 4 percent.
Carson, one of the few candidates who retains a net-favorable rating, is the only Republican other than Trump whose support has grown, and stayed high. Carson has shown steady growth since Morning Consult began tracking polls in mid-July, while Rubio, Bush and Fiorina have all seen their support shrink after individual peaks.
Just about a third of all voters have favorable impressions of Bush, Rubio and Fiorina.

Fiorina blew by by her tendency to exaggerate.
Fiorina doesn’t survive a second look.
WAR WITH RUSSIA WAR WITH RUSSIA YEA THATS THE TICKET!
HOORAY Trump
That just can’t be, just yesterday FOX was proclaiming that Trump had reached his peak in the low 20’s, was stalled, and everyone was predicting that he would soon abandon his campaign.
Looks like Trump got about half of Carla’s supporters, which is what we expected. Carson will eventually flame out, and Trump will get nearly all of them - so Trump’s still in excellent shape. If a two man race between Trump and Jeb/Rubio, Trump would be at 65% or so (picking up Cruz’s and other support).
Fiorina had her 15 mins. Carson is having his. Yeb had about 6 mins. Senior Amnesty will have about 3 mins and that will be that. I agree with Trump: let’s have the election now so he can start working to reverse the damage the skunk in Chief and the Uniparty has done.
Trump bump.
:D
Fiorina is a sitting duck for the EEEEEEVIL CEO treatment that the Democrats gave Mitt Romney.
I wish it weren’t so, but it be so.
Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson clocks in second, at 20 percent

If that said, “retired, white, neurosurgeon, he might have 1% of the vote.
“If that said, retired, white, neurosurgeon, he might have 1% of the vote.”
Naaah, if he were as white as Lindsey Graham he would be running behind Lindsey, not even a blip on the radar screen, one percent would be an impossible dream.
Odd, the media keeps demanding that Trump fall in the polls.
When reading the background on the recent Reuters poll, I noticed that Reuters uses very conservative, moderate conservative, and leans conservative as filters requiring weighting. Surprisingly, ‘very conservative” was strongly in favor of Carson and actually changed Trump’s lead in that poll to Carson, if only the ‘very conservative’ filter was used. The same with education: “college plus” strongly favored Carson over Trump.
My point is that we make a big deal out of the “democrat/republican/independent” weightings in polls, but they are not the only weightings that can be used. If too many democrats are in the supposedly balanced sample, then the poll is skewed toward the democrats.
The same with other criteria. If “very conservative” is over represented, then it benefits Carson.
So, it would be easy to construct a poll, like Fox News has done, that shows registered voters, lots of respondents, etc., but if they over-represent the ‘very conservative’ faction (or some of pro-Carson factor) then that poll will be skewed toward Carson.
And NO ONE will know what has been done.
“Odd, the media keeps demanding that Trump fall in the polls.”
Not really.
The mediots/beltway pundits and the anti Trump Trolls on the internet keep predicting/demanding that Trump is failing.
Where’s the national poll of Trump vs Hillary, Biden and Sanders?
Trump picked up 140,000 subscribers on his twitter account during the debate from 4.42 million to 4.56 million.
He should be cresting 40% support in the next few weeks.
Trump was on both GMA and Morning Joe this morning talking about the Democrat debate. He is hard to keep up with!
The thing I like about Morning Consult is that I think they poll at least 1,000 people. These polls of 300 IMO are sketchy.
Fox News Poll is so out of line with the other polls out there that it must have been highly manipulated. There is no way Carson is 1 point behind Trump.
Very interesting!
