Except that some GOP politicians have said some really stupid things about rape. For example, that women have some magical ability to prevent conception when they are raped. This 1996 study, the number of pregnancies after rape for adult women was around 32,000, a rate around 5%. The article points out that many rape pregnancies were for younger girls, and often related to family and domestic violence.
