“Insane.” There is no other word to describe what the German leader is doing to her country. She should be removed from office.

The same diagnosis applies right here.

I would like your historical insight here, because it seems we are (mostly) in uncharted territory.

But I am a little scared of one possible analog, and I think a lot of us would benefit from your take.

But Herbert Hoover was elected having had no political/elective experience (former cabinet member only, very successful mining executive). I “think” he was elected to sort of come in, and solve problems.

And, as an engineer, he was inclined by nature to be a little more hands on, and there were problems...so he tinkered and controlled, but did not actually solve the problems....and he paved the way for FDR who fundamentally transformed America, and in a way that most of us here think was not helpful and was unnecessary and which eroded liberty.

There are obvious differences between Hoover and Trump.

But I think there are similarities.

So....I’m turning to you, the historian, to enlighten us and explain how Trump is not the next Hoover!

Hope that makes sense...and hope you can post to that point, when you can.

Thank you!!

Trump notes a now common observation, all the “military Ready” age men suddenly migrating....

Casual to the Obvious Observer...

I agree with him a 1000% on this assessment. These European countries will rue the day that they allowed this mass of military-aged men, and breeding stock women, into their countries. We see the first riots starting to pop up in guarded news reports already.

Right on. What else is it called when a nation’s leader acts against the best interest of the nation? (Except maybe the “T-word”)

Indeed it does. But here I think it’s both “stupid” and “insane”.

I have a feeling she will start ordering them to "get out of Town".

I think the plan was to document them.

If she closes the door...they'll just do border jumping...just like here.

Of course, Obama thinks 200,000 coming to the USA is good news.

Trump is saying what so many of us are thinking.
A Muzzie Roundup should be tops on the new agenda.

And it was extreme insanity (liberalism) that caused a Muslim to be our president. Sadly, it’s prevalent in most countries and on most continents now.

Yet there is interest in Donald Trump right now, even by those who are considered to be liberal, maybe he is viewed as being a breath of fresh air.

What did Merkel expect? These people are not immigrants. They are not bringing their families and 90% of them are in the 18 to 35 year old, prime military age group.
They are a muslim army waiting for they leaders to give the order to attack their host country.

Over here, I’d call it “deliberate.”

And it really is “insane” when you consider that Germany has for many years suffered an immigrant problem - first from the former DDR after reunification when people poured into the West for jobs, and later from everywhere else in EMEA because Germany was about the only place that had a functional economy. Those were more traditional immigrants (e.g. families) who increased the burden on government services and created friction by expecting to receive support even while refusing to assimiliate. So she’s had plenty of experience in seeing the damage done by even “normal” immigration - so allowing this on top of everything else truly is crazy.

Germany eventually recovered from the madness and destruction Hitler caused to be unleashed on her. Merkel is unleashing now on Germany what may be permanent destruction... extinction of her stock and culture, and that of Europe itself. Statesmen think of the next generations, politicians only think of the next election. Merkel is a politician.

The best sneer so far at Merkel, is that she imagines that all of Germany is her house, and she is a “crazy cat hoarder lady”, except with immigrants. So she’ll do *anything* for her little pets.

Except that with Bammy, he sides with the enemy. Don’t know Merkels story.
