Is it possible? Sure. But please give me a reliable link to confirm rather than just saying it was confirmed.
But the real question is: sovereign Syria asked Russia (and next maybe China) to be in its country, so how is this situation a threat to the security of the United States?
In WWII, we designed new weapons and manufactured them quickly and in quantity. WWII was a pretty squick war for us and we accomplished a lot in a short amount of time. Today, that just won’t happen. A new ship can take 20 years from idea to commissioning. A new plane can take 15 years. And when we have a new plane (ex. F-22) we build 150 of ‘em.
We are not well positioned to fight either Russia or China — let alone both. And we do not have time to get ready. They know that.
No one is afraid of us. Why would they be?
God willing a new President will make the commitment that is necessary to protect America, ensure a strong military and use it for what it is designed for....a killing machine to protect the country and its interests, not be a social engineering experiment.

China Declares All-out War On Islam
China is declaring an all out war on Islam as a preventative measure to minimize terror attacks. Ramadan is banned, Hijab banned, Muslim prayer banned in Chinese government buildings, $4,880 fines on Internet users who disseminate Islamist ideology, Muslim beards banned on public transportation and the government will pay $8000 for anyone who reports on Muslims growing beards. All that is not enough. Today all Halal restaurants must serve cigarets and alcohol. China hates the Islamists so much that they joined Russia in its war against the Islamists in Syria and there is much talk about the Chinese coming to Iraq. Russia and China’s emergence in the Middle East (especially Iraq) has many asking: is China coming soon with its 200,000,000 man army to Iraq to dry up the Euphrates? And is Russia’s Magog hailing for the massive battles leading up to Armageddon? I mean Iraq … this is where the Euphrates is … and here comes the Chinese … and the Russians … What in the world is going on?...
We don’t...and isn’t that sad?
Remember how America rallied around Desert Storm? A lot of the people went on to serve after 9/11, and we lost so many of our boys, fathers, brothers, uncles....
And yes, if we go to war again, it’s because of the Kenyan’s ego to over take Syria...he doesn’t even know how to govern his own checkbook, let alone a nation or a world...should never have been elected....

The problem is more complex. See it appears that as sure as Hillary is guilty of espionage of a sort, Obama doesn't have the interest of the United States in mind, of a sort.
Now consider the notion of "This Obama fiasco". Well, it's not a fiasco in the sense of ineptness as the root cause, but rather by design.
Now add the two together -- the fact that blatant un-american activity and criminal malfeasance is happening and certain elements in the GOP are keeping the others from doing anything about it. That's why some of us are happy Russia has stepped in to contain the middle east problem -- you know, that ball we've been carrying for 50 or so years and culminated with the Twin Towers terrorism? Funny how a lot of buildings in China are decorated with Christmas ornaments when I was there during Christmas season a few years ago. Heck even Christmas songs were being played on the shops I went to.
