2 Milwaukee cops sue gun store for selling weapon that perp used to shoot them. Case arguments open.
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.

Reasonable point. And I posted my comment before I read KeyLargo’s post #16 where it was revealed that the perp was hovering around the buyer during the sale. I know that the guys I deal with would have spotted him right away but who knows about a newbie?
I can see the potential for a circumstantial case and will look forward to how this turns out.

I guess my only question would be on the “hovering” is what proof can be established that this occurred this way?
Is the straw purchaser getting a no-indict deal from the police to testify this? (If true, what he did was very illegal). Lot’s of questions here.

Years ago two “gentlemen” came into our shop. Gentleman A asked to see an SKS rifle. After handling the gun he returned it to me and said that Gentleman B would do the paperwork. After explaining that what he was proposing would be Federal felony, I told them to get the F*** out of the store. As soon as they left in came a female “suit” who flashed an ATF badge. I was all set for a congratulations when in fact she was there on another matter.

It doesn’t have to be a family member that you are gifting the gun to.
