Newt Gingrich : 2015 U.S. Speaker of the House I like many of his ideas. But I'd have to say no. He had his shot. Plus, he resigned last time. I'm not a fan of anyone who retreats like that.

Newt and Allen West are historians ... someone we desperately need in American politics

Political strategy of days gone by should not be used in determining the value of a man's caliber for our future
I'm a felon ... and a pretty decent shot, and I'm not allowed to own a gun, and I'd like to have me in my foxhole should the need arise ... (read into that all the hidden meanings you want ... they're really not hidden)
Should I be a wallflower or a jitterbug at the dance ?

Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures. I say yes to this idea.

Plus, he resigned last time. I'm not a fan of anyone who retreats like that. ....since when was it a conservative tenet to want someone to cling to power with ever fiber of their being? Stepping down from personal power for something bigger is what real conservatives celebrate, not condemn.

a primary tenet of conservatives is... if I don’t agree, the taint is on me
it is easier to stab in the back than remain supportive in times of difficulty

since when was it a conservative tenet to want someone to cling to power... That's a fair point. However, consistency and dependability are two important traits. I would not criticize anyone for resigning any position. Folks have their reasons. But neither is that something that should just be ignored.

Newt, sad to say, was backing Kevin McCarthy for Speaker.

when charges are brought, founded or unfounded, conservatives here and not here, desert the republican politician rather than forgive the transgression.
The fear of taint with the sin by association is greater than the fortitude required to forgive and preserve

knarf,
I either need more coffee or more weed. Are those song lyrics or something? You lost me at, I’m a felon. I thought I may have had a stroke after the bit about you wanting to be with you in a foxhole. Dancing?
I’m calling my shrink.

Come on people!!
I love to watch Newt take apart liberal talking points as much as anyone else but really let Newt enjoy the history books.
Newt obviously from his lifestyle is not reliable. He is a serial womanizer. He is an establishment guy. Last but not least you have him on the couch with Pelosi.
To: Leaning Right
However, consistency and dependability are two important traits. Dependable means you put others ahead of yourself...you relinquish your power when it's in the best interest of the cause. There is no defense there for criticizing someone for resigning. Resignations are often very honorable acts. Not always, but quite often, especially in politics.

Newt has baggage piled on top of baggage too numerous to recite. Jim DeMint would be an ideal choice as a conservative who never wavers in the face of leftist attacks.

The caliber is a reference to me ... I DID an act 46 years ago, and forever more a felon?
Not in MY book
I attempted word association to illustrate ... there's nothing wrong with Newt as Speaker
The fact that you referenced weed .... you doper .... means your judgement is flawed
see ?
