On Wednesday's CNN Newsroom with Carol Costello, in a pre-recorded interview with Jerusalem Mayor Mir Barkat that aired around 9:20 a.m. about a recent spate of Palestinians attacking Israelis with knives in public places, substitute anchor Ana Cabrera brought up her guest's tendency to carry a gun in public and absurdly asked him, "Does that not incite more violence?"
The Jerusalem mayor incredulously asked, "Well, how could that incite more violence?" and then went on to praise the tendency of many Israelis who are trained ex-soldiers to carry their guns in public and use them to defend themselves and others from terrorist attacks.
After Barkat recounted the recent knife attacks in Jerusalem, complaining about "incitement" by the Palestinian leadership, Cabrera brought up his gun and hinted that it, too, could be considered "incitement." Cabrera:

Jerusalem mayor tackles Palestinian attacker
The mayor of Jerusalem and his bodyguard tackled a Palestinian man to the ground after he attacked a Jewish pedestrian with a knife.
The incident occurred near the city hall in central Jerusalem on Sunday.
Security camera footage shows the 18-year-old Palestinian stabbing a man while
I *like* his response.
It’s the same we’d make if they’d ask.
Cops carry guns. Does that “incite” or deter violence?
Cabrera is a brain dead libtard.
He is a great mayor. Just today he called on all citizens who have guns and are licensed to do so to carry them with them outside and be prepared to use them.
Throw it back at them: Gun grabbers and liberals enable violent crime.
One of the strongest supporters a mass murderer has is a liberal.
Especially since they were talking in the context of the Pali/Israeli issue,
this fits right in with what I’ve heard from libs.
The Palis are only violent because they feel threatened by the Israelis.
I’d guess that Cabrera’s view would assume that the mayor’s gun was “threatening” to the Palis.
I told our priest after our mid-week service last night that it is something for which we need to be prepared.
He agreed.
Thinking it is high time we started acting Israeli Jewish.
Better to have a plan and be armed and not need it, than to need it and not have a plan or be armed.
Core issue: some people simply do not differentiate between “good guy with a gun” vs “bad guy with a gun”. Come to ponder it, some people simply do not differentiate between “good people” vs “bad people”, which perfectly explains why they’re so quick to seek & impute evil within “good people”, and so quick to seek & impute good within “evil people”. To them, everyone is good and bad, and their purpose in existence is to rub the axiom in everyone’s faces. On this subject, they simply cannot comprehend a “good person” _not_ just hauling off and shooting others for petty reasons, just like any “bad person”.
So...gun control should be applied to people in favor of gun control, as the fact that they’re for it shows they need it; those against gun control should not be subjected to gun control, as either they don’t need it (being good people they’re not going to do evil things with guns) or won’t consent anyway (being evil people they’re going to carry out their vile goals by any means).
Of late I’ve been noticing that many Southern churches (medium to large ones) have police on site. Have to wonder what _really_ prompted this tendency (though understandable for the “megachurches” just by sheer numbers), and have to consider that smaller churches unable to afford such active protection need provide their own. Details of precipitating events (if any) may be VERY hard to come by, few being willing to discuss “what happened” outside inner circles in grave/serious/whispered tones.
Rabid Arab/Muslim indoctrination kills people.
Jews in Israel are trained in the use of firearms.
The best way to stop rabid Arab scum is to use guns.
Plain and simple.
Arabs revel in death because that is the coolest thing in the world for their bored little pea-sized brains.
Jews of Israel! Defend yourselves, take no prisoners.
Let’s examine the intent of her question.
“Doesn’t the simple display of an open carry weapon incite violence?”

The WSJ only saw fit to put a small blurb of about a paragraph in the back pages titled: ‘Spate of Attacks ‘Heightens Tension.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delayed an annual trip to Germany to meet Chancellor Angela Merkel and other officials Wednesday, opting to stay at home to address an escalation in violence between Palestinians and Israelis, government officials said.
The officials said his visit was postponed due to an increase in demonstrations and attacks, including stabbings and stone-throwing, over the past week in Israel and the Israeli-occupied West Bank, which presents a political challenge for Mr. Netanyahu.
On Wednesday, an 18-year-old Palestinian woman stabbed an Israeli man in the throat in Jerusalems Old City, an Israeli police spokesman said. The man, who was armed, then drew a gun and shot her. Both were hospitalized.
Separately, an Israeli soldier was injured Wednesday after being stabbed in the head by a Palestinian man while on a bus in the Israeli town of Kiryat Gat, the Israeli police spokesman said. The assailant was later shot and killed.
In a third assault, an Israeli policeman was wounded when an Arab resident of Jerusalem stabbed him near the entrance to a shopping mall, according to a Channel 2 report. The attacker was arrested by security forces, the report said.
Wednesdays attacks are the latest deadly incidents that have heightened tensions between Israelis and Palestinians. After meeting with police in Jerusalem, Mr. Netanyahu said in a statement that Israel was still in the midst of a wave of violence, but was taking strong action to quell it.
We have known worse times than this and we will also overcome this wave of terrorism with determination, responsibility and unity, he said.
On Thursday, a Palestinian gunman killed an Israeli couple in front of their children as they drove in the West Bank. Two days later, a Palestinian stabbed to death two Israelis in Jerusalems Old City.
I carry a weapon at synagogue, under orders from my Rabbi, as do several of our group, including a police man.
We have had several drills on what to do.
It’s basic common sense for Jews, and, increasing, appears to be common sense for Christians.
That would depend on what neighborhood the cop is in at any given moment.
I personally carry a High-Point 45 while my wife has a S&W .380 pistol.
That would depend on what neighborhood the cop is in at any given moment.
Leftist propaganda aside, I think there would be much more violence in those neighborhoods if the cops were armed with just their smiles.
