112 Days In, Donald Trump Is Just Getting Started

"Does Donald Trump really want to be President?" That's usually followed immediately by another: "When is he going to drop out?" The truth is, only The Donald knows - but he certainly says he wants to be President.

If you don't take him by his word, consider his actions.

First, there's his schedule. On tap for this week, Waterloo, Iowa, Las Vegas, Nevada and Atlanta, Georgia. Sure he isn't doing three stops a day like the other candidates, but he never did. And yes, he doesn't have to sleep in unfamiliar hotel rooms, drag his luggage through airports, or cram into commercial flights, but the campaign trail is grueling nonetheless. It's hard to argue a 69 year-old would spend the last three months hop-scotching America's small towns for the fun of it.

Secondly, there's his staff. Trump's campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski has told NBC News from day one that the campaign is going to the convention and "Mr. Trump will be on the ballot in every state."

In order to do that, they need organization and they have it in at least eight states.

In Iowa he has a dozen full time staffers, including Chuck Laudner, a seasoned Iowa political operative who ran Rick Santorum's shoestring Presidential campaign to a victory in the Hawkeye State four years ago.

Not just staff, but ground game.

Today, in Waterloo, there was a big shift in focus and a big sign that the campaign is buckling down. Laminated signs dotted around the ballroom not of Trump's face or name, but of caucus instructions and tips on how to be an effective precinct captain.

All the signs are pointing towards Trump getting out of the race.

He is number one in most all of the polls. He is drawing large and enthusiastic calls wherever he goes. Every network is clamoring to interview him. Debates featuring him have record TV ratings.

It’s only a matter of time before he drops out.

I don’t think it will be Trump/Cruz. Cruz should be Senate Majority leader and then the Supreme Court

Trump/Sessions is more possible but the VP will probably have to be a nod to the establishment to keep them from bolting or staying home. Probably a governor or other non Senate person.

If you want a VP from Texas try Greg Abbott. He’d drive the democrats nuts. He is in a wheelchair so a protected minority and a really sharp guy.

How about a VP from Texas----Greg Abbott? He’d drive the Democrats nuts. Confined to a wheelchair---he's a protected minority and a really sharp guy.

Not a bad idea---even though Sessions would be a great pick---the guy who gave Donald the immigration roadmap.

I love that Abbott would be a thorn in Obama's side---b/c the ding-a-ling planned to turn conservative Texas into liberal-lala-land.

‘’ try Greg Abbott. He’d drive the democrats nuts. He is in a wheelchair so a protected minority and a really sharp guy.’’

I’d sure hate to lose him, but THAT. Is a brilliant idea. Because of who he is, not anything else. LOL @ driving the democrats nuts- hoo boy.

All signs point to Trump getting out of the race: He is number one in most of the polls. He draws enthusiastic crowds of some 20,000 wherever he goes. Every network is clamoring to interview him. Debates featuring him have record TV ratings. It’s only a matter of time before he drops out.

ROTFLOL......good one.

Cruz is lying in wait.....his only strategy seems to be laying claim to the supporters of dropouts.

The Trump people were forced to brush him off. Ordered Cruz to stop using Donald's slogan......tagalong Cruz kept saying HE was going to "Make America Great Again."

Looks like every night as his poll numbers drop, Cruz counts how many times his name is mentioned on the internet, he then spits out a press release about "how good he's doing."

When Cruz draws 20,000 to a campaign event he might be considered a contender.

Another sign that Trump's soon going to bag it all is that he said the crowds at these rallies, and their behavior, make a rally FEEL LIKE A LOVE-IN. How long is he going to put up with THAT?/😊

‘The Trump haters will hate this article.’

The Trump haters hate the fact that Trump wakes up in the morning, still drawing breath. I’ve never seen anything like it; not even Bush Derangement Syndrome was as bad.

I can see those love-in rallies getting very intolerable. All those people having to stand outside in the rain because they can’t get in. I can see where Trump might start getting discouraged and drop out.

I don’t think it will be Trump/Cruz. Cruz should be Senate Majority leader and then the Supreme Court

Cruz will never be elected dogcatcher by his colleagues, much less Majority Leader. But VP Cruz would also be President of the Senate Cruz, and Cruz could shake up the Senate's uniparty-ness by ruling from the chair with authority, something that hasn't been done in the Senate for decades, if not centuries.
