Well, one would think the simplest definition is whether a person has a dick or a snatch, but we all know how confused that’s gotten lately, what with all the surgical hacking and tucking and whatnot lately, so I say go with an old-fashioned DNA breath tester built into the door lock, where an “X” grants entrance to Door Number One and denies entrance to Door Number Two (or vice versa if you might think my numbering scheme is somehow “sexist”).

This passes, some rapist/pervert will dress up as a woman and assault a real woman/girl in a bathroom. Mark my words.

Could it be related to the mayor’s lesbian status? /s”

Ya think? Only reason I wish I still lived in the City is so that I could vote NO on this. Heard on the news today that the Black Chamber and NAACP is supporting it because “everyone has a right to be served” but Black ministers are still saying no. In spite of the bathroom issue, if my business were still in Houston there are a lot of people that I would not want as a client -another reason to vote NO. If it does pass, I have friends in the city who own small businesses and are going to shut them down or move. Of course the Chamber and Mayor Porker are saying that groups won’t come to Houston for conventions, etc. if it doesn’t pass.

There is also going to be a zydeco concert on Saturday and a lot of the older Blacks are saying “not in my neighborhood”. Pretty interesting to watch all this unfold, particularly if you live in the suburbs.

Well, the women raped by med dressed as women can at least sue Houston for endangering them once this is passed.

Herms are born with both. Go for the DNA check.

have you noticed how twisted the “yes” vote adds are.
For ex, the show families and say vote yes, it’s for family values.
Or blacks, vote yes, it’s a civil rights issue.
It’s absolutely sickening those tv ads

You bet the ads are slanted and cherry pick the part of the ordinance that fits their agenda. At least Mayor Porker had to change the wording so that if you are for the ordinance you vote yes and if you’re not, you vote no. Haven’t noticed the mayoral candidates weighing in very much one way or the other. Houston is as big a mess and in as much debt as D.C. comparatively speaking.

There is an interesting Proposition on the ballot that increases the homestead exemption from $15,000 to $25,000 which makes homeowners happy. But if it passes, there is a mandate that “local school districts are reimbursed dollar-for dollar by the state”. Been trying to get an interpretation of this in plain English by my State Legislator but have thus far been unsuccessful. Don’t trust Austin any more than I do politicians in D.C.

Have someone pat them down, like getting on an airplane....if there is a neutral place between the lags...female, if there is a bulbous mass between the legs, male.

So, trans-whatevers can line up to use the restroom at movies, concerts, etc. I like that idea: maybe they’ll stop pretending to be the opposite sex.

How often does that happen? 1 out of 10 million births?

No, actually between 1 in 40,000 and 1 in 120,000 children born presenting as female have an XY chromosome pair and complete androgen insensitivity syndrome.

The point is, no one cares about what chromosome pair the person in the next shower-stall is carrying when they go to the gym, they care about what genitalia they exhibit. The XY-CAIS girls have been showering with normal XX girls from time out of mind and no one was unhappy with the situation.

I assume people born with androgen insensitivity don’t have wombs, vaginas, or labia.

I’m not sure about wombs, but vaginas and labia, yes (in the case of complete androgen insensitity).

Sounds very strange. They’re boys with androgen insensitivity, so they don’t develop...penises? How do they develop uteruses, labia, and breasts? They don’t have the genetics to grow those things.

No, actually the changes in morphology from female-form to male-form are controlled by the response to androgens normally created by the presence of a Y-chromosome. If other genes cause a complete lack of androgen receptors, the body develops in the female form. Such people typically don’t get called “boys” because we don’t do genetic tests to determine the sex of children, just look at them at birth.

There are milder forms of androgen insensitivity in which the child develops normal male characteristics, but is infertile, or (quite rare) if born “intersex” not looking properly male or female. In the latter case, the child has typically “assigned” a female sex by surgery — giving rise to the mythology among the advocates of transgenderism that sex is assigned — and surgically modified to match. (Incidentally, the sole instance of sex-change surgery the Russian Orthodox Church accepts as legitimate is reversal of this erroneous “assignment”.)

The point is that although an XY pair codes for having a penis, the way that code is implemented involves response to androgens. (In the first instance DNA codes for proteins, how the mix of proteins encoded translates into cellular structures, tissue organization, and body form is still largely a mystery.)

The mayor there is a lesbian.

There's plenty of lesbians who don't want men in the women's restrooms as well.

We're led to believe that gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders are all one big happy family. This isn't always the case.

Look up "TERF" or Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminism. Cathy Brennan, a lesbian feminist lawyer from Maryland is their champion. They're not at all fond of dudes wearing dresses who call themselves "women".
