Donald Trump has spent only $2 million on his entire campaign. That’s brilliant.

Trump's running his campaign like he runs his construction projects... under cost and ahead of time...

There is one more important distinction between Trump's campaign finances and those of every other candidate. Donald Trump is spending his own money and not "free money" donated by other people. When all of the skin in the game is your own, you will make every dollar count.

There is a cool video in which Ivanka explains how he solves problems in those meetings. Lots of fun lots of listening, lots of input from experts It’s a real eye opener. Unfortunately it’s not saved separately but in a bigger folder and I’ve not found it again

You just identified your next job. Find this video! Please...

We have candidates going through tens of millions of dollars right now, and unable to move their standing appreciably.

Isn’t this a microcosm of what the presidency is like?

Think about it. Bush spend like there was no tomorrow. He doubled the national debt. What did he gain for it? Were we better off when he was done? That’s exactly what his brother is doing right now during the campaign.

Trump spends very little because dollars have value to him.

The man knows how to tweak the media and get a lot of bang for the buck, or in many cases, no bucks at all.

Most people look at a wall on the border and lament it’s massive costs. He looks at it and knows it can be built at no additional cost to the U. S.

The man simply sees things differently. He’s had to look at money this way for his entire life. No politician has had to, at least not like he has had to.

This should be a great object lesson to us all. Few will really think about it and how it applies to the presidency, and that’s a shame.

Hey, if Trump does start spending and gets bang for the bucks, he’ll once again be better than many of our former presidents, who spent spent spent and produced nothing for the nation in exchange.

Trump/Cruz 2016

You're right Marine - hadn't thought of it that way, but it's true. Thanks for sharing.

Where are the $$$ spent in traditional campaigns? For a campaign manager, for a messaging manager, for a media manager, political advisers, etc.

Trump has these, but they're not the traditional political lifers. The Donald wears all these hats, and these "managers" are mere subordinates... and very good at what they do.

Trump is managing the campaign. He doesn't need the infrastructure a lifer politician such as Bush needs. And I guarantee you he won't be paying 10-15% to some ad company for media.

When a candidate runs a campaign poorly we notice, we cluck and say, "If you can't run a campaign, how can you run a country?" We don't seem to notice so much if, in this case, that particular dog isn't barking.

Trump to this point has accomplished so much with so little. Who thought he could? Who knows what the next five months will bring?

I'm amused by those presumptuous enough to think The Donald would benefit from their sage advice in regards to how he "should" be doing things.

The Clinton years were a horrible time to be a political junkie. Today is a great time.

Do you think the “professional handlers” of the “professional” politicians don't know how to manipulate the Media. Of course they do! The difference their candidates are not natural leaders.

Trump is a natural leader the others not so much. You may not like him and that is OK, but you have to recognize talent when you see it.

Your post was sublime. To reiterate:

FYI

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/donald-trump-plots-his-second-act/2015/10/06/305790c2-6c68-11e5-9bfe-e59f5e244f92_story.html

Trump, who is mostly self-funding his campaign, said he had originally budgeted up to $20 million through mid-September for television advertising. But so far, he has not spent anything to go on the airwaves since he is so often on them: “It’s been all Trump, all the time. . . . If you had an ad, people would O.D.”

But he and his aides said that would soon change. His campaign says it has hired a Florida-based advertising firm and Trump said he has proposed several concepts for ads in the works.

“I have such a great concept — in fact, so good,” Trump said, declining to specify.

Agreed. Trump accomplishes a lot for very little, It’s exactly what we need ... Can’t even imagine how great this would be for the entire country ....

Oh, my, perhaps we might return some of the money saved to those who actually earned it!!
