FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. A soldier at Fort Campbell has died after being shot during a training exercise, CBS affiliate WTVF reports.
Officials are investigating the shooting, but they said they do not suspect foul play.
The soldier, whose name is not being released until family is notified, died at a hospital on the base. The incident happened at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Ibtg.
Just because.
Accidents do happen. Military training is tough and dangerous because combat is even more tough and dangerous.

we may need some ballistics expertise.
This is true!
Godspeed, soldier. Thank you.
Prayers for friends and family.

Will we ever find out if this accident was more than an accident? Was it caused by political correctness. Dumbing down to accommodate those not qualified because of gender or race, etc?
The world is full of idiots, most of them self selected as appears to be in your case.
Training for combat is tough, realistic, and dangerous. Conspiracy nut cases are not invited to participate as they can't get through basic training.
David Petreaus, when a battalion commander in the 101st Airborne at Ft. Campbell was shot in the chest during a very similar training exercise. It's the price of freedom.
Go back to the Waco debacle, something that you know something about, rather than making a fool of yourself.
We were taught in the military that ACCIDENTS do not happen! They are caused!
Someone somewhere f’d up I’m sure.
Jihadis have put out the call to infiltrate our military. What is it that so winds you up when I call attention to a couple of events happening in sequence?
And, though I am sure you know this - I shall post whatever and whenever I please, at the pleasure of the site owner of course.
The Marine may have committed suicide. We are losing many, more than we lost in battle. Why? Could have something to do with liberal hate. A Marine in Nazareth, PA was in uniform and held open a door for someone to go in before him. The person spit on him. His mother posted it on facebook today. Pray for them all.
Of course, and I welcome your posts and comments, even when they are incredibly clueless. Major Hassan is an example of your scenario, an accident during a live fire exercise is not. Those who know understand the difference.
Hoping to benefit from all this knowledge you possess, scanned the posting history - something I do rarely, but I like to know a bit about who is calling me an idiot.
Al Gore???
John Kerry????
Really????
LMAO.
Google Conspiracy Sites. The number one return is Infowars. You’ll do well over there. If you get a chance, go to Kileen and get some photos of armor vehicles on trains heading for the National Training Center. They love that stuff over at Infowars, you’ll be a hero. It’s lots of fun even though it’s complete nonsense.
But, here your posts hurt your credibility and what you are doing on something that you really know about is important. Stick to what you know, you’re doing very well on that front.
I’m sure everyone would love to see what I said about Al Gore and John Kerry. Give us a link so that the rest could enjoy.
So the actual Idea is irrelevant? What matters is what was posted in the past? Or how long you’ve been a member of FR.
I understand the need to understand where your chosen opponent is coming from, but you actually should frame your answer more towards the thread topic.

CAUTION HARD HAT AREA ????????
Having spent 20 years in the US Army, I can state that training accidents do happen and soldiers do get accidentally killed with weapons. I remember a case in Germany, when a soldier in the Cavalry Squadron I belonged to was killed by a .50 cal round that was in a machine gun that had been “cleared” and was standing in front of it when the firing button in the TC’s cupola was pushed.
Of course accidents happen. A pattern of accidents is cause for attention.
That is ALL I intended to say.
