The mother of the man who killed nine people and himself at Umpqua Community College in Oregon last week wrote extensively on social media about her love of guns and her difficulty raising an autistic child, the New York Times reports. Laurel Margaret Harper, mother of gunman Chris Harper-Mercer, wrote that she kept AR-15 and AK-47 semiautomatic rifles and a Glock handgun in their home, and cited her son as her source on facts about gun laws. Writing on Yahoo Answers under the name TweetyBird, she mocked lame states with tough gun-control laws, and said that because of the multiple loaded guns she kept at home, no one will be dropping by my house uninvited without acknowledgement. She and her son would frequently go to shooting ranges, and she expressed disdain for inexperienced gun owners, writing that she would cringe every time the wannabes show up. Harper also acknowledged her sons troubled history, and wrote that she and her son both had Aspbergers syndrome, an autism spectrum disorder. She wrote that Chriswhom she never identifies by namewas among other things, a head-banger, and seemed proud and what she and her son had accomplished despite their challenges. I have Aspergers and I didnt do so bad, she wrote. Elsewhere, she comforted another parent of a child on the autism spectrum, writing, I was in your shoes and now my sons in college. When advising other parents of kids on the autism spectrum, Harper recommended reading early and often to their children, and said that a particular favorite of hers was Donald Trumps bestseller The Art of the Deal. Fact: Before my son was even born, I was reading out loud to him from Donald Trumps The Art of the Deal, she wrote.

Trump is now the new Tea Party with the MSM.
Ah
The reason to hate guns and Trump yet again shows its face.
Picking up my jaw.
These people, and I use the term loosely, have no shame............................
for later
I really, really don’t think Americans realize how bad the enemy is. I just don’t think they realize. May death come quickly without a lot of suffering. No one seems to want to really fight this nor will they support someone who does.
The MSM is totally in the bag for Hillary. So even a pathetic attempt to smear Trump like this isn’t beyond them (obviously).
She should be held either criminally or civilly responsible for encouraging her psycho son to possess and use guns. Seems clear she knew he was a nutcase. She is essentially a Nancy Lanza that survived.
How do we know this profile wasn’t “created”?
I hope our side can find and publish more info on this guy’s Islamic connections.
Because that would shut all of this up.
I don’t believe for a second that this single parent black woman championed Trump for president. Anymore than I believe her son was autistic - he was a convert to Isis and a bad kid with no father in the family.
I get the sense she tried her best to raise the kid right, but lost him along the path.
This is really an all-time new low.
No picture of mom just quotes?
Amazing the tie-ins to Trump the MSM creates. In their pea brains Trump now equals mass murderer facilitator. And the MSM has only just begun their hatchet job. There’s lots more to come folks.
Fact: Before my son was even born, I was reading out loud to him from Donald Trumps The Art of the Deal, she wrote.
So this is what the author hangs her hat on. When this 26 year old was a fetus, circa 1989, this woman read Trump’s book. This is not an endorsement on her part of Trump’s presidential campaign. Its no different than saying ‘I liked the Apprentice’.
Anyway, to make sure I have the hit piece right:
The mother of a mentally ill mass murderer read Trump’s book 26 years ago, so Trump is somehow associated with the carnage.
Encouraging your bat poop crazy son to own and use guns is not my idea of having sense.
is that satire?....the Trump part is beyond bizarre. Im speechless.
I don’t like or trust Trump, but the media connecting him to this is an absurd hit piece.
Even if the mother supported him, so what? But the article only indicates that she admired him as a businessman many years ago.
