Syria’s skies crowded with multiple air forces

ROBERT BURNS, The Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) — The skies over Syria are increasingly crowded — and increasingly dangerous. The air forces of multiple countries are on the attack, often at cross purposes in Syria’s civil war, sometimes without coordination. And now, it seems, they are at risk of unintended conflict.

Which do you think will happen first- we rocket a Russian or they rocket one of ours?

They will get one of ours, and President JV will send a strongly worded letter of apology.

I'd bet that if we had a REAL president, we could fit in some B-52s, B1Bs, A-10s and C-130 Spectres flying missions round the clock.

This news report gives a visual which shows how many aircraft are over Syria. Looks like the USAF Lt. General isn’t worried about the Russians.

That, and there would be a total navel blockade of Syria. No Russian or Chinese ships anywhere near the country.

For what?

It amazes me that a rag-and-tag ISIS with no air defense and no air power....carries this much weight for months and months. If we could airlift the entire Army of Belgium and their one squadron of F-16’s....they could probably wipe out ISIS in a matter of four weeks.

No one cares...except in the past month when Russia finally woke up and said it’d take care of the problem.

Since the Russians are focusing their efforts on bombing and killing as many Islamists in Syria as possible, I doubt they'll encounter any American war planes.

I think the recent news about the ISIS "nuclear threat" prompted the West to move into action. The U.S. is definitely botching this whole thing so I'm glad that somebody (Russia) is in there conducting unrestricted warfare.

When Trump gets in, he'll finish the job if necessary. We just need to get the sissy pantywaist out of office. Until then, the rest of the world is putting the U.S. in a "timeout."

Yes, Damascus seems to be very strategic in terms of a military jump off point into Israel. I’ve wondered if Israel wouldn’t irradiate the area to make it impassible, thereby providing some protection from large force incursion.

ISIS is not a conventional military, It's made of small groups of pajama idiots spread out across huge area. Air force will never wipe them out. You would need a massive land invasion... and then they would just hide among civilians and turn to planting IEDs near roads, basically Iraq 2.0.

“No one cares...except in the past month when Russia finally woke up and said it’d take care of the problem.”

Russians actually allowed a lot of their domestic islamists to join ISIS. Now they just heat the whole thing up, likely trying (with little effort, their forces their are very tiny) to get Iran & Saudis involved and make a big war out of it. Why ? Just think what's going to happen to the oil prices then.

If there is a problem, it will likely come over the Turkish “Safe Zone”/ISIS resupply route.

They went after the Kurds, to keep them from closing ISIS off from the Turkish border.
