Russian forces bombed Syrian targets for a fourth day despite international concerns over Moscow's intentions in the war-torn nation.

The Russian defense ministry said its soldiers bombed nine ISIS positions Saturday near the terror group's de facto capital in Raqqa.

In the past 24 hours, the air force conducted 20 airstrikes near Raqqa, the defense ministry said.

Tactical bombers destroyed various militant facilities, including ammunition and oil depots, and all-terrain vehicles, the defense ministry said in a statement.

Me neither. Actually Russia isn't at war with ISIS. They're at war with Japan. They have it in for Toyota.

Does this mean boots on the ground soldiers are engaged? Last count, there are 2,000 Russian soldiers in Syria.

Syria and Russia are allies of 50 years. This was originally a civil war. Our entry was because of the use of chem weapons.

Lo and behold, Russia got Assad to get rid of his chem weapons and we were the "take them away team". We should have left after that.

But Obama thinks he can do anything....and hoodwinked Congress for Money to train rebels...which turned out to be ISIS folks. Kinda like Libya.

Let Russia have at it.

The $70 Billion ex-KGB agent and the head choppers working for Assad will likely only fortify the Alawite homeland of Latakia, Assad has been nothing but a lackey for ISIS and now Putin is going the same direction.

About those all-terrain vehicles the Russians destroyed. One can't help but wonder where they originated and how they were being used.

This is all so phony. Less than a week ago, the news was that the military we trained went over to ISIS. And now our leaders are complaining that they're being destroyed?

Anyone who protects Christians and other minorities should be our ally. Instead, who are our government's allies? ISIS and Saudi Arabia, which crucifies, beheads, and stones to death dissidents. That has been made crystal clear this week. Our government is fighting for the bad guys, and it stinks.

But...but...our president said this was counterproductive and that “it’s going to move us farther away, rather than towards, the ultimate solution that we all should be looking for.” And aren’t you concerned about Russia getting into a quagmire? /SARC

Reminds me of a cartoon where a missionary is preaching flames of hell to a bunch of Eskimos. The Eskimos are listening with huge grins on their faces.

International concerns ?

I'm sure Putin snuggles up to his hot little mamma at night tossing and turning in his sleep concerned about what the international community thinks...

I would agree with you about the first part. I look at it as a military necessity. If one looks at a map of Syria and where Russian and Syrian Army forces are located they are in the west and essentially surrounded by "moderate" forces.

Now, if I was the Russian commander (putting on my armchair general cap for a moment) after securing the airport in Latakia and others I sure would be bombing those forces that I know are not my allies that are in close proximity in order to secure and fortify my position.

But people will say, "That ain't ISIS. That's FSA, Jabhat al-Nusra, Army of Conquest, etc." Well that's based on a Putin' political decision that Assad stays and therefore they are the enemy. and I'd say they're not bad enemies to have. Why would I ignore Al Qaeda and their affiliated band of head choppers?

And I suspect the upcoming Syrian Army offensive (with their Hezbollah and IRGC allies) will mirror that same strategy. Word is it's already begun in Homs and Idlib.

I would even agree whatever strikes Russia has done against ISIS in Raqqa are token strikes to placate the international community. But they say their air offensive will last 3-4 months. We're 4 days in. We'll just have to wait and see what develops.

I can’t help but wonder if the “International Community” created the migrant crisis deliberately.

Our involvement began when Hillary sent our ambassador to Benghazi to vet alqueda terrorists, arm them from Libyas arsenal and send them into Syria to dump Assad,do you really think Putin was going to sit by and do nothing?
Better to blame a video than have the American people find that out,all it did was get our ambassador murdered and CIA men killed.
Now no one will make the link about this buffoon President trying to install the Muslim brotherhood in Libya,Egypt,Syria Jordan,That was Hillary’s task to get done and she screwed it up big time.
Now they tout arming moderates as a strategy that should have been done sooner, what the hell do you think they were doing in Benghazi, that is what has instigated this whole disaster and NO ONE IS MAKING THE LINK

If Obama actually "thinks" we're in big trouble......his self-serving arrogance makes Obama feel he can do anything. He hoodwinked Congress for tax dollars to train what he characterized as "anti-Assad rebels"...who turned out to be ISIS terrorists who gained control of millions of dollars of advance US war materiel.....

That debacle sounds like ntl security advisor, and resident lamebrain, Susan (The Video) Rice's idea. She's come up w/ most of the corkers. She's now buying whiteout by the gallon to update her resume.

Or maybe it came from one of the other braindead types he surrounds himself with..........

<><> Tommy "The Dude Vietor O's campaign driver who actually got ntl security clearance.
