On Sept. 30, Russian warplanes launched their first air raids in Syria, striking eight targets around Homs, north of Damascus. In a second day of strikes on Oct. 1, Moscows planes hit another five targets, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
The Kremlin insists its hitting militants from the so-called Islamic State. But the locations of the aerial strikes imply otherwisethat Russias bombing civilians and U.S.-backed rebels instead. Chillingly, video and photographs from Russias new air war seem to indicate that the attacks are inaccurate and indiscriminate.

We're pretty good at that.

ROFL. Did you see the picture on the linked page?
Well, I guess it’s ok then. /s
If O’bonghit were not arming and financing radical islamists there would be no Syrian war.
War is “brutal”??? Who would have known?????
The term is ‘unprofessional’. I heard someone say that Putin is sounding like George W Bush. That’ll turn the “Progressives” against him. Could get them riled up enough to agree to not sabotage military efforts in the area.
I sort of think war should be brutal
Trying to limit civilian casualties and be civilized makes it more likely that more wars will be fought.
If it isn’t worth going in and killing everyone, fighting to the bitter end maybe it isn’t worth going to war over.
"More rubble, less trouble" - Winston Spencer Churchill
We’re so worried about collateral damage, I’m not sure we could win with our enemy hiding behind innocents, who BTW are mostly moderate muslims who hate us anyway.
In other words, war of eradication against jihadi vermin is done with an eye to economy. Something Washington D.C. and their lobbyist friends would never do, as American taxpayers are not quite utterly wrung dry.
Well duh. That is how Russkies wage wars. They did that in Chechnya, targeting civilians and targets indiscriminately. There are even stories out of Chechnya that sound straight out of WW2, with Russkies going around gang raping and looting. Russians in WW2 raped millions and destroyed everywhere they went. In Ukraine they have done the same exact thing. Gang raping women, brutalizing them, turning their faces into mush, bombing Ukrainian villages and cities, even targeting their OWN cities in order to create propaganda. There are photos of Russkies pointing their missiles straight back into their own occupied cities.
This is how Russkies fight wars. They are too incompetent for anything else. Their soldiers flee the battlefield or get killed by the thousands against fighters with no military training! And they are too stupid to do pinpoint strikes. So, what do you do if you are pathetic? You use overwhelming force with bombs and commit terrorism to win.
Russkies are getting rid of their old weapons stocks in Syria. Plus the Russkie economy sucks with the low oil/energy prices. This is how Putin distracts and rallies (patriotism) the Russian population. Takes their mind off the mundane matters
If you have a stockpile of bombs whose expiration date is coming up, what else can you do?
With Muslims wearing no uniforms and taqiyya how can anyone says who or if there are civilians. Likely not Christians anyway as ISIS has killed most of them.
Yep, the Chinese Embassy was collateral damage . . . to the dismay of some.
Dumb Bombs for Dumb Jihadis —Bobalu
American pansy libs: “Ooh, vintage bombs! Couldn’t mean ol’ Russia melt them down so they can be repurposed into bed frames or patio furniture? It would be FABULOUS!”
If the Russians are going to eventually bomb me, I want nothing but the latest tech./S
I hate the way we do things. We drop leaflets telling them that we are coming. They move everything to mosques and we waste very expensive smart bombs on what?
