Ethel Rosenberg, who was executed with her husband for treason in 1953, was honored Monday by the City Council on what would have been her 100th birthday.
Three council members joined Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer in issuing two proclamations lauding Rosenberg, a Lower East Side resident, for “demonstrating great bravery” in leading a 1935 strike against the National New York Packing and Supply Co., where she worked as a clerk.
The proclamations also said she was “wrongfully” executed for helping her husband, Julius, pass atomic secrets to the Soviet Union.
“A lot of hysteria was created around anti-communism and how we had to defend our country, and these two people were traitors and we rushed to judgment and they were executed,” said Councilman Daniel Dromm (D-Queens).

They’re trying to establish communism as a normal political ideology,make it the equal of any other.
That’s pretty sick. After the files of the USSR were opened it was confirmed that not only was she involved, she was the ringleader. And the most low life thing she did of all was to be executed when all she had to do was confess. She was willing to orphan her kids to complete her mission. Depraved.
A shame we didn’t stand steady against Communism, which has now infested all three branches of government.
They were guilty. Which makes them even bigger heroes to leftists.
Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were Soviet spies. This was conclusively proven with the release of formerly classified US Government documents. They were rightly executed for their treason.
No amount of McCarthy Hating Hollywood liberal kookism or the idea that newer liberals in San Diego can rewrite all of 1950s history will make it any different.

Great point, frequently overlooked.
The fact that they helped the Soviet Union get the atomic bomb is admired by New York liberals.
Many liberals were very angry and upset at the collapse of the former Soviet Union. They looked forward to America being a Communist dictatorship.
And they hate America.
I still have the flyer from 1953 begging to stop the execution. I think it was a Labor Union flyer. The liberal Jews of NYC hated IKE because he refused to stop the execution. A spy is a spy, they come in all sizes, shapes, colors, gender or religions.
Oh, so she was Norma Rae before Norma Rae was cool.
The Left has consistently fought the truth that there were many Communists in our government from the mid-1930s onward, and the Rosenbergs were traitors.

Our State Dept. has been compromised for 80 years.
Because Richard Nixon went after Alger Hiss in 1949, the Left wanted him destroyed—and they succeeded in getting him to leave the Presidency in 1974.
But for Obama’s crimes, they stand mute.

Why stop with issuing two proclamations?
The should award a few million dollars to any surviving family!
