Their private property rights trump IMHO... that said, to heck with Huddle House (commie bastards). Not eating there ever if I can help it.

If we can refuse service to an individual that is exercising his constitutionally enumerated right to carry a firearm, then we ought to be able to refuse service to someone that chooses to be gay, which is not a right enumerated in the constitution.

Wife and I had breakfast at a Waffle House in Springfield years ago.
After writing our order down, the waitress called out to the kitchen, “Flip it. Dip it, Nip it and Clip it.”
We never did understand her code...

No conflict. His property, his rules.

Right!
The problem with the doctrine of "Rights" being when everyone has "Rights" nobody has "Rights."

Mr Welch did the right move by going somewhere else. I would not eat at places owned by liberal gun haters.

He has a right to exclude people carrying firearms. The public has a right not to eat at his restaurant. Let them both exercise their rights.I once ate at the Waffle House. Not eating at the Waffle House is not a right, it's a privilege.

If the Kentucky governor says the National Guard wear weapons on duty, then the guard base could post a list of the restaurants who would welcome them sidearms and all. When that Waffle House in question has a robbery, and an innocent person is injured or killed, the manager will have blood on his hands.

No conflict. His property, his rules. You think it's that simple?

Do they have a rifle holder, kind of like an umbrella holder?

Looks more like an intern wrote and edited the story.

I've only patronized 'Awful House' once when working with my colleague in VA. We started our day at 4 AM with breakfast, then off to the rail yard in Roanoke, VA. It was the only place open at that hour.
Concealed and open carry are common in my area for handguns. You only see a rifle over the shoulder of people entering places like Sportsmanswarehouse to fit a scope/rings or other accessory.
